Publication . Brilha, Leonor, 1982-; Ramos, Artur, 1966-; Mendes, Anabela, 1951-
This report of the Supervised Teaching Practice consists of the description of the activities developed in school, in a class oriented by a cooperative teacher of the subject and related to the initiation of the Professional Practice, including the theoretical basis of investigation which materialized in the school practice. In first stage what is described as the investigation about the History of Visual Arts and the emergence of Art in Education, as the genesis of Visual Education as a curricular subject in the Portuguese teaching process; then follows the specific Creativity – its concept, origin and definition, its involvement in teaching – as an essential competence to be developed in Visual Arts Teaching process and in everybody’s life. This stage is important considering the strategies for the development of creativity of the student which will be delineated in the classroom daily life. The second stage includes the report of the process of my practical work developed in the teaching of Visual Arts to the 8th year in School ‘E. B. 2.3.’ in Loures, under the supervision of the cooperative teacher of this school subject. The plan of the Unit to be taught and that I’ve created named ‘From Illustration to Animation’, is developed by means of projects, from Drawing, passing by Illustration and Animation and ending in a Cartoon exercise. Finally I present my conclusions which are taken from the implementation of development strategies of creativity by Robert Sternberg and Wendy Williams, and the reflection I’ve made about my teaching experience in a public school, as well as the rewards and the difficulties I found
  • O desenho e a educação do olhar
Publication . Bartolomeu, Sandra da Silva; Saraiva, Pedro, 1952-
The study presented in this report aimed to investigate how Drawing helps developing cognitive skills in adolescents. Since Drawing is a key area in the Visual Education curriculum, this study sought to learn what strategies are recommended for teaching students attending the 8th grade and precisely what skills and competencies does the learning and practice of drawing develop in these students. In order to answer these questions, there was carried out a research about the main psychological, academic and motivational characteristics of students in the class to which the curriculum unit was dedicated, about the school they attended, about the Visual Education curriculum guidelines, and about teaching and learning theories. Discovery learning was the main methodology used, focusing on the use of representation drawing as a research tool for knowledge. Beyond Drawing, threedimensional modeling and two-dimensional cutting and pasting were joined in this unit. Trees and landscape were the theme chosen. It was concluded that the practice of drawing develops perceptive thought, contributing to increase cognitive capacities. It can also be concluded that creating through the Plastic Arts favors emotional development and drawing promotes important attitudes and habits towards healthy living in the contemporary society. It was found overall that the students learned to look more carefully into their surroundings, and therefore, represent more realistically the subjects they looked upon
  • A importância da aquisição de uma cultura artística no futuro desempenho profissional dos alunos
Publication . Pestana, Isadora Pereira Rocha; Fróis, Virgínia, 1954-
This report aims to describe the practice of supervised teaching held in Professor José Augusto Lucas School in Linda-a-Velha in academic year 2009/2010, under the 4th semester of master's degree in Visual Arts teaching. Teaching activities took place with 12th grade students of the Scientific-Humanistic course of Visual Arts in the Curriculum area named - Àrea de Projecto. After a theoretical contextualization on the fundamentals and research that led to the development of this work, we provide a detailed description of the project. "TransformArte" was the name chosen for a project that aims to develop competencies in the field of art through experimentation of planning methodology. We discuss the skills of Visual Arts students at the end of secondary education, within a constructivist perspective, aiming their application in professional future. Finish with a critical analysis, methodologies used, teaching models adopted and results obtained
  • Cultura visual e práticas educativas na disciplina do desenho
Publication . Ribeiro, Ana Isabel do Coito de Jesus; Queiroz, João Paulo, 1966-
This work deals with the visual culture and its importance in the performance of students in the Drawing discipline. Teaching practice was developed in Francisco Rodrigues Lobo High School in Leiria, with a 12th grade class of pupils with good behavior and good school results, but with few aesthetic references and untrained critical thinking. This visual culture shortage was the starting point for the development of our work, once we thought that it was the main obstacle to work development with even more quality, not just technical, but also aesthetics. There is also a lack of motivation in most students, which could as well be surpassed through the visual culture development. The selected unit was the 'Illustration' and our main objective was to ascertain whether a teaching practice based on the presentation of several examples, organization of study visits, developing workshops, and others, had effective reflexes in improving results obtained in Drawing discipline. In parallel, we analyzed the existing conditions and the major difficulties encountered in the development of this type of teaching. The results were encouraging, with effective improvement in the quality of work carried out by students, which leads us to believe that the use of more active development of visual culture should be encouraged, because most cultivated students are more motivated and have more opportunities of success
  • O desenvolvimento da linguagem plástica tridimensional através da medalhística
Publication . Gonçalves, Ana Isabel Sousa; Duarte, João, 1952-; Tavares, Cristina Azevedo, 1956-
In the framework of the Plastic Expression discipline, school offer in the area of Artistic Education, it was prepared and developed a didactic unit for Basic Education students, in order that they could acquire and develop the competence in the area of threedimensional plastic language through the learning of the art medal making techniques. We defined our work from the curriculum framework and the characterization of the school context. As mentioned in the Curriculo Nacional do Ensino Básico, regarding artistic education, the literacy in arts implies the acquisition of competence: the appropriation of elementary art language, development of the expression and communication capacity, development of creativity and comprehension of the arts in a context. Therefore, the students got to know some of the techniques used on sculpture like coinage, foundry, modeling, the process of making molds, among others and developed several studies for medals, applying the acquired knowledge. Besides the technical experience, we used the historical context and documentation about the medal, with bigger focus on Portuguese authors, supporting them in the use of several didactic resources. In a final stage, the student’s experiences were evaluated through the analysis of evaluation data taken during the teaching and learning process
