- 23829 Healthy Cities generator €VALUE: €conomic valuation for life expectancy in urban environments DEL01 research reportPublication . Louro, Ana; Marques Da Costa, Eduarda; Carnide, Filomena; Alves, Rafael; Menor, RicardoThis report– DEL01 Research report – presents a summary of the research process and results, focused on discovering practical and applicable existing life expectancy and economic indicators, including indicators, values, and data sources to incorporate into HCG€. • This deliverable is relevant for the success of the project as it identifies existing references on societal health costs, the influence of the urban environment on health, and reference values regarding health determinants, fundamental elements to design the new module for the existing HCG€ software and upload it with a first dataset as reference values to guide the possible users. • This document, including the Annexes, was led and conducted by ULisboa. • The direct beneficiary of the developed work is Bax & Company, so we aim to support them especially in Task A2303 – Conceptualisation and tool development with the knowledge foundation and needs analysis. • The obtained contents were based on different approaches: 1) a literature review based on scientific and grey documents in order to identify economic values related with societal costs of health and the weight of influence of urban environment (and its urban determinants of health) on health level; 2) the use of multi-source, large-scale databases to identify relevant indicators at the European level to represent baseline values of several health determinants. • This deliverable contributes to constructing the rationale behind OUT02 – Online HCG€ module, the online digital tool that will perform the economic evaluation of life expectancy improvements of urban interventions. This deliverable does not contribute directly to the commercialization strategy.
- 2nd INTREPID Report: Interdisciplinarity, the Social Sciences and the Humanities and Responsible Research and Innovation in EU ResearchPublication . Bina, Olivia; Varanda, Marta; Sessa, Carlo; Guimarães, Helena; Alexander, DorisThe initial scope of this world café session on interdisciplinarity (ID), social sciences and humanities (SSH) and responsible R&I in EU funding, was based on the preliminary findings of a short term scientific mission (STSM, 3-‐9 April 2016) held at DG Research and Innovation in Brussels, to explore different aspects of how ID was being understood and integrated in programming and funding policies (Bina 2016). The interviews held at DG R&I raised a number of interesting questions about the use of the terms and concept of ID in the context of H2020 programming and funding (EUCO 2013). In the conclusion of our report to DG R&I summarising the findings from the interviews held, we suggested organising a workshop to discuss some of the key issues identified. Eventually, the opportunity arose to create such event as part of a larger international conference on interdisciplinarity and the need to open up the social sciences. The conference details can be found here: http://www.intrepid-‐cost.eu/lisbon-‐conference/

- 8th INTREPID Report: The future of university as if sustainability mattered: A co-creation experience through Theory U journeyPublication . Guevara, Marite; Ferrer, Didac; Chaparro, Isabel Cristina; Sessa, Carlo; Bina, Olivia; Varanda, MartaThis year the INTREPID Training School programme centred on the question of how can universities be a positive force for transformation and change towards a more sustainable future. The programme invited participants to explore the specific challenges of Inter and transdisciplinary knowledge and co-creation; and reflect on the skills and dispositions required by researchers and practitioners to cross boundaries, sectors and paradigms. This experience of this exploration was the starting point for a process of envisioning of a civic learning institution capable of enabling education, research and learning in permanent support of sustainable development. This report provides a brief account of the main steps and methods used to explore our theme, as well as an indication of some of the results.

- ACE: Um Agente de Compras na InternetPublication . Neto, Ana Beatriz; Gouveia, Duarte; Silva, Mário J.Electronic commerce through the Internet is a growing business, but there are still some problems to overcome so that every user can become a buyer. Safe transactions are the most discussed problem, but there are other problems that make shopping on the Internet difficult. When we built ACE (which stands for Agente de Compras Especializado) we aimed at solving one of those problems: finding the product or service that best suits your needs. We designed a scalable model for that purpose (since this software could be used to connect every buyer and every seller on the Internet) and we built a prototype that shows how this model works. We describe our proposed model in detail, based on the software agents paradigm, and the methodology we used to develop it. We conclude with a comparison between ACE and a similar commercial product
