Abstract(s)
This report– DEL01 Research report – presents a summary of the research process and results, focused
on discovering practical and applicable existing life expectancy and economic indicators, including
indicators, values, and data sources to incorporate into HCG€.
• This deliverable is relevant for the success of the project as it identifies existing references on societal
health costs, the influence of the urban environment on health, and reference values regarding health
determinants, fundamental elements to design the new module for the existing HCG€ software and
upload it with a first dataset as reference values to guide the possible users.
• This document, including the Annexes, was led and conducted by ULisboa.
• The direct beneficiary of the developed work is Bax & Company, so we aim to support them especially
in Task A2303 – Conceptualisation and tool development with the knowledge foundation and needs
analysis.
• The obtained contents were based on different approaches: 1) a literature review based on scientific
and grey documents in order to identify economic values related with societal costs of health and the
weight of influence of urban environment (and its urban determinants of health) on health level; 2) the
use of multi-source, large-scale databases to identify relevant indicators at the European level to
represent baseline values of several health determinants.
• This deliverable contributes to constructing the rationale behind OUT02 – Online HCG€ module, the
online digital tool that will perform the economic evaluation of life expectancy improvements of urban
interventions. This deliverable does not contribute directly to the commercialization strategy.
