It can be used to assess the daily balance between the demand for and the production of forage to estimate an annual farm net margin. It is possible to use the model to modify biophysical and financial parameters related to the tree, pasture and livestock components (such as tree cover density, carrying capacity and livestock species) in order to maximise net farm income

- Os determinantes do investimento direto estrangeiro em países em desenvolvimentoPublication . Arcanjo, Andrea Karina Núncio; Mendes, José ZorroAo longo dos últimos anos os fluxos de investimento direto estrangeiro têm vindo a crescer rapidamente em todo o mundo. Cada vez mais, os países em desenvolvimento têm procurado por políticas que atraiam mais IDE, como uma forma de estimular o seu crescimento e melhorar o bem-estar das suas populações. Os fluxos de IDE com destino aos países africanos têm vindo a aumentar nos últimos anos, contudo, relativamente aos restantes países em desenvolvimento, as diferenças são significativas. O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar, empiricamente, os determinantes do IDE em países em desenvolvimento, de forma a perceber se os mesmos terão um similar impacto nos fluxos de IDE com destino a países africanos, no período de 2004-2014. Os resultados obtidos indicam que a abertura ao comércio, a qualidade institucional, o capital humano e o desenvolvimento de infraestruturas são relevantes para explicar os fluxos de IDE com destino aos países africanos.
