Martins, AndreaOs últimos 20 anos foram marcados no SW do território português pelo grande empreendimento público de construção da barragem do Alqueva e respectivos canais de rega. Esta obra possibilitou a identificação de numerosos sítios com arte rupestre, de cronologia variada, desde paleolítico até época moderna, levando a que o número de ocorrências crescesse bastante. As restantes novas identificações foram realizadas no âmbito de projectos de investigação, alguns deles direccionados especificamente para a arte rupestre, possibilitando um incremento de estudos específicos. Por outro lado foram efectuadas novas investigações em sítios já bem conhecidos (núcleo de Arronches) ou projectos de valorização (Escoural) contribuindo para um melhor conhecimento das manifestações rupestres existentes nesta área do território Português.

- 7th international Meeting on Retouching of Cultural Heritage proceedingsPublication . BAILÃO, ANA; Boavida, MargaridaBetween 12th and 14th October 2023, the RECH Group organised the seventh international conference in Lisbon, in collaboration with the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon. Specialists from various fields of conservation gathered to discuss issues surrounding chromatic reintegration. The event took place over three days, featuring thirty-one presentations, demonstrations and two workshops. Experts from Croatia, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Austria, Poland, Israel, Canada, Monaco, Belgium, Italy, Taiwan and Brazil participated. Interests and concerns regarding chromatic reintegration practices were shared, both from the perspective of decision-making and materials and execution techniques. A trend towards seeking more sustainable and less toxic approaches was observed throughout the event. We express our gratitude to all speakers and participants of the conference, to the sponsors and to the entire team at the Faculty of Fine Arts who hosted us. Special thanks to the Committee members for their support and contributions during the conference and to this publication. This publication represents a truly collaborative effort that we hope will assist the conservation and restoration community in developing their chromatic reintegration work.
- Uma abordagem fenomenológica às organizações inteligentes: a perspetiva dos estudantes de pós-graduaçãoPublication . Corujo, Luís, 1976-; Revez, Jorge, 1980-A avaliação dos sistemas de informação tem frequentemente relegado para segundo plano o elemento humano. Partindo da análise de Choo relativa à Organização e Gestão do Conhecimento no seio da Organização Inteligente, e da proposta metodológica da Fenomenologia, são investigadas as experiências de estudantes de cursos pós-graduados (2.º e 3.º Ciclos do Ensino Superior) lecionados em Portugal, relativamente aos procedimentos administrativos nas Instituições de Ensino Superior, perspetivados no âmbito dos sistemas de informação das organizações. Para o efeito, efetuam-se entrevistas eletrónicas estruturadas que permitem colher as perceções dos estudantes face aos sistemas de informação, particularmente no que se refere aos procedimentos administrativos, e que evidenciem fenómenos de insuficiência, falhas de conceção, funcionamento e desalinhamento, captados pelas vivências dos sujeitos, e que tenham resultado, por exemplo, em frustrações, sugestões de melhoria, etc. Os resultados informam sobre fenómenos reais, porque percecionados por várias pessoas, mas que não costumam ser documentados e, logo não estudados. De uma forma geral, as Instituições de Ensino Superior são percecionadas de forma positiva, apresentando ainda algumas falhas no funcionamento dos sistemas de informação.
- Os ácaros na cultura da amora em estufa e infestantesPublication . Pina, Silvia; Ferreira, Maria dos Anjos; Calha, Isabel; Figueiredo, ElisabeteAcarological surveys were carried out fortnightly from March to June 2011 on blackberries and weeds in a greenhouse at Fataca Experimental Farm in Odemira, in order to study species diversity and population interaction. This study focused on two blackberry cultivars, ‘Ouachita’ and ‘Karaka Black’. Sixteen mite species were identified on blackberries. The redberry mite Acalitus essigi (Hassan) was the most noxious mite in both cultivars, causing severe damage. However, the late maturing Ouachita cultivar was the most attacked by this eriophyid mite. The most common predacious mites were the stigmaeid Agistemus longisetus Gonzalez and the phytoseiids Amblyseius stipulatus Athias-Henriot and Amblyseius californicus (McGregor). From the 36 weed species identified, 22 were host plants of mites with agricultural interest, 14 mite species being identified. Phytoseiids, especially A. stipulatus, observed on 13 weed species, indifferent tydeids, in particular Orthotydeus californicus (Banks), observed on 10 weed species, and the stigmaeid A. longisetus, observed on seven weed species, were the predominant mites. These mite species also occurred on blackberries. The most important host weeds of mites were Amaranthus deflexus L., Chenopodium murale L., Conyza bonariensis (L.) Cronq., Conyza canadensis (L.) and Solanum nigrum L., mainly associated to predators, A. stipulatus and A. longisetus. From acarological point of view, safeguarding the competition relatively to some vegetal species, ground cover vegetation can be an important component of conservation biological control in blackberry crop, because host weeds of mites are mostly repositories of predacious species
- Acessibilidade e Inclusão na Arte e no Património. Livro de ResumosPublication . BAILÃO, ANA; Neves, Ana SofiaO III Encontro “Acessibilidade e Inclusão na Arte e no Património” é uma iniciativa da Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa e do Museu da Farmácia de Lisboa, em parceria com a Associação Bengala Mágica, que decorrerá nos dias 14 e 15 de junho de 2024. Com o objetivo de ser um espaço de discussão e troca de ideias, reunindo trabalhos associados à acessibilidade à arte, aos museus e património cultural. Divulgando estratégias que visam melhorar o acesso e a inclusão dos diversos públicos ao património. O Encontro de Acessibilidade e Inclusão na Arte e no Património começou em 2021 enquanto sessão do Ciclo de Conferências “Encontros no Largo das Belas-Artes”. Tendo em consideração a aceitação do evento, em 2022, decidiu-se dar continuidade ao projeto, conferindo-se autonomia. O II Encontro de Acessibilidade e Inclusão na Arte e no Património, foi distinguido em 2023, pela Associação Portuguesa de Museologia (APOM), com uma menção honrosa na categoria de Investigação e Difusão Científica.

C.Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most common form of dementia among persons over 65 years of age. It is a brain neurodegenerative disorder characterised by loss of memory and cognition. Current treatment is symptomatic, with the major therapeutic strategy based on the “cholinergic hypothesis”, specifically acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibition. Tacrine (THA) was the first and one of the few drugs approved in the last decade for the treatment of AD. However, due to the important adverse effects, such as hepatotoxicity, it is no longer widely used. Therefore, more potent and less aggressive THA analogues are necessary. This prompted us to evaluate the AChE inhibitory activity of new oxazole derivatives (compounds 1-5), presenting a pyridine ring (compounds 2,3) or a benzene ring (compounds 4,5) in the molecule (1). The biological activity of the compounds was evaluated by measuring the AChE inhibitory activity by an adaptation of the method reported by Ellman et al (2). The reaction rates were compared and the percent of inhibition by the test compounds was calculated. Assays were performed in quadruplicate in at least two independent experiments, and THA was used as a reference compound. At the maximum soluble concentrations, compounds 1 and 2 inhibited AChE activity by nearly 50%, while the inhibition by the derivative 3 was only around 30%. In contrast, the oxazolo-derivatives 4 and 5 were devoid of any inhibitory activity, which we can speculate to be due to the absence of the N atom in the benzene ring in these compounds. Collectively, these preliminary findings point to a potential interest of precursor 1 and THA-derivative 2 for AD therapeutics, although structural modifications are needed to improve the solubility of the compounds, which is an essential step to enhance their activity. - O acordo de cooperação cambial entre Portugal e Cabo-VerdePublication . Mendonça, AntónioEm 13 de Março de 1998 foi assinado entre Portugal e Cabo Verde um Acordo Cambial que estabeleceu o peg do escudo cabo-verdiano ao escudo português e agora ao euro. Pretendeu-se por esta via, e de acordo com os próprios termos do Acordo, criar condições para aumentar os fluxos comerciais e de investimento entre os dois países, favorecer o processo de reformas estruturais da economia cabo-verdiana, e estabilizar as relações cambiais entre os dois países. Neste texto faz-se um balanço possível dos cerca de três anos de vigência do Acordo designadamente, no que diz respeito à adequação das suas disposições às necessidades objectivas de Cabo Verde, aos resultados económicos entretanto obtidos e, ainda, à viabilidade de se avançar em direcção a formas superiores de integração monetária.
