A partir da análise da oferta e da procura na área da Saúde e cuidados de saúde oferecidos em Portugal Continental, verifica-se uma escassa licitação na zona do litoral alentejano. O presente trabalho irá focar-se na realização de um hospital público universitário, sobretudo nas áreas hospitalares mais carenciadas da cidade de Odemira, oferecidas pelo centro de saúde local, como também no acompanhamento a partos e acesso a cuidados de saúde reduzidos, dada a população existente, em que apresenta uma das maiores taxas de assistência a partos do país por parte dos Bombeiros. O facto de ser um hospital universitário dá a possibilidade de expansão
e desenvolvimento da área qualificada de saúde.
Estas e muitas outras disfunções referidas, fazem resultar sobretudo a falta de atracão por parte de médicos, enfermeiros, auxiliares e todo o restante staff nesta área. O tema principal procura dar respostas a esta problemática existencial, como também promove uma proposta, falada há anos, da construção de um hospital na cidade. A proposta promove a integridade social no espaço, com a ligação de todas as áreas hospitalares, e conexão entre os espaços interiores e exteriores.
A construção deste hospital procura unir várias soluções de caráter construtivo, para que haja maior ligação e flexibilidade dos espaços de serviço e públicos, que funcionam de forma autónoma. Estas soluções passam pela introdução da construção mista entre materiais indispensáveis, como o betão para fundações e pisos abaixo da cota de soleira, madeiras locais para a estrutura e elementos exteriores da fachada e light steel frame (LSF), aplicado em paredes interiores e exteriores. Com a utilização destes elementos construtivos é reduzida a produção de CO2 com a redução do cimento de uma construção tradicional. Com isto, pretende-se uma construção atrativa, rápida, económica e sustentável.
O programa do hospital é organizado a partir de um estudo prévio sobre as verdadeiras carências do concelho, trazendo assim melhores práticas de serviço divididas em zonas organizadas por 3 blocos principais de norte a sul, e um outro bloco transversal que liga o hospital num todo.
Este edifício resulta de uma preocupação com o ambiente onde está inserido, otimização de materiais utilizados, impacto ambiental e integração com a natureza e vegetação pré-existente no local. O edifício também foi pensado no contacto com o interior/exterior, havendo assim elementos construtivos exteriores em madeira lamelada, de forma a controlar a entrada de luz e calor no edifício e no exterior, causando assim conforto nos ambientes estabelecidos no projeto. A cor da pintura exterior escolhida, branco, promove a arquitetura e ambiente do local devido ao reflexo controlado dos raios solares para a vegetação que envolve todo o edifício.
Em suma, o projeto de arquitetura promove um hospital universitário autossuficiente com rapidez de adaptação ao local, adaptando uma construção eficiente de forma a que haja a possibilidade de expansão evolutiva
ABSTRACT: An analysis of supply and demand in of health facilities offered in Portugal, reveals a deficient scenario in the coast of Alentejo. The present work focuses, then, on the creation of a university hospital in the city of Odemira. Currently the area has a local health center which is clearly insufficient due to demand. Odemira is the area in Portugal with the highest rate of Fire Crew assisted births and the proposed building pretends to respond to solution to that occurrence. An university hospital will allow not only for the qualification of health services in the area but also allow for the eventual growth of the building and the services offered. The current dysfunction results from the lack of attraction for doctors, nurses and auxiliary staff to work in Alentejo. A new facility will certainly be a positive factor when considering placement by staff. The proposed building tries to promote social integrity through space by linking all areas and by creating a connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. This building tries to unite a series of construction solutions in order to promote spatial flexibility as well as services, yet allowing for autonomous functioning. The solution introduces a mixed construction system with materials like concrete below grade and local wood for the structure above grade including some exterior elements such as shading. Interior construction is dry construction, essentially dry wall. This type of constructive allows for the reduction of the emission of Co2 produced by cement/concrete. This type of construction intends to be attractive, fast, economic and sustainable. The program of hospital its organized by a previous study of a true needs of municipality, bring best practices of services organized by 3 fundamental blocks in the south to north and a transversal block connected to the others. This building reflects the concern with environment of location, it optimizes the materials used, and has low impact regarding the local environment as it tries to establish a connection to the local vegetation of. The building was developed to allow views to the outdoors and to maximize natural lighting through the control of external elements like external shading devices The color used is white, causing a fresh space and reflex controlled by trees and vegetation that surround the building. In short words, the project of architecture promotes a university hospital, self-sufficient with fast adaptation to the place, incorporating an efficient construction typology and with a future possibility of expansion.
