Descobre-se no recorte da margem do Tejo, um lugar singular entre a terra e o rio. Um
lugar que foi escolhido pelo reconhecimento das suas potencialidades e qualidades
arquitetónicas.
A partir deste, a presente dissertação de Mestrado trata o processo de revitalização de
áreas portuárias degradadas, sendo esta direcionada para a reabilitação e estudo desse
mesmo lugar, o Cais do Ginjal em Cacilhas, Almada. Dedicou-se especial atenção ao
estudo da materialidade e do detalhe arquitetónico e no modo como estes conseguem
caraterizar de forma distinta o que é pré-existente e o que é proposto, novo.
Segundo a atual situação urbanística, o Cais do Ginjal possui grandes potencialidades
de requalificação urbana, usufruindo de uma localização central no contexto da Área
Metropolitana de Lisboa. Com a presença destes valores históricos, sociais, culturais,
de memória e singularidade, procurou-se assim, promover uma nova leitura e conferir
um novo dinamismo na restruturação desta frente ribeirinha.
Com este projeto, criam-se então, novas valências neste espaço, concebendo um
programa dinâmico virado para a cultura, serviços, lazer e turismo.
ABSTRACT: It’s discovered in the cliff of the Tejo, a singular place between the land and the river. A place that was chosen for the recognition of its architectural potentialities and qualities. From this, this Dissertation discusses the process of revitalization of degraded port areas, being directed towards the rehabilitation and study of this same place, Cais do Ginjal in Cacilhas, Almada. It was paid special attention to the study of architectural materiality and detail and to the way in which they are able to characterize separately what is preexisting and what is proposed, new. According to the current urban situation, Cais do Ginjal has great potential for urban renewal, enjoying a central location in the context of the Lisbon Metropolitan area. With the presence of these historical, social, cultural, memory and singularity values, it was sought to promote a new reading and to impart a new dynamism in the restructuring of this riverside front. With this project, new values are created in this space, designing a dynamic program focused on culture, services, leisure and tourism.
