Uma solução de Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) de qualidade é fundamental
para qualquer negócio, uma vez que dota a empresa de soluções, aplicações e
funcionalidades, integradas, com o objetivo principal de agilizar o negócio e tendo como
base um único sistema, onde reside toda a informação.
Contudo, face ao crescimento do volume de dados e ao aumento exponencial dos
desafios de natureza tecnológica e funcional, o sistema ERP deixou de ser suficiente, uma
vez que a informação não se encontra devidamente estruturada no sistema, dificultando a
tomada de decisões estratégicas. Esta necessidade tornou fundamental o recurso a
soluções de Business Intelligence, com ferramentas de Data Warehouse e OLAP (OnLine Analytical Processing).
Estas soluções permitem controlar o desempenho da empresa nas mais diversas
vertentes, tendo sempre em conta as verdadeiras necessidades de informação para uma
melhor e mais eficiente tomada de decisão, criando informação realmente acionável, de
modo a garantir a competitividade da empresa.
O presente relatório visa apresentar as atividades realizadas no decorrer do estágio
realizado na Milestone Consulting, S.A, para conclusão do Mestrado em Gestão de
Sistemas de Informação, do Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão (ISEG), parte da
Universidade de Lisboa.
Este estágio teve como objetivo a aquisição de conhecimento e expeiência em
projeto de Enterprise Performance Management. Neste contexto, o estagiário foi inserido
num projeto de SAP BPC (Business Planning and Consolidation), ficando responsável
pela criação de consultas sobre bases de dados e relatórios. O sistema SAP ERP e as
ferramentas ECLIPSE IDE e SAP Analysis for Office foram utilizadas no decorrer do
mesmo.
A quality Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution is essential for any business, since it provides the company with integrated solutions, applications and functionalities, with the main objective of streamlining the business based on a single system, where all the information resides. However, due to the growth of data volume and the exponential increase of technological and functional challenges, the ERP system is no longer enough, since the information is not properly structured in the system, making it difficult to make strategic decisions. This need has made it essential to use Business Intelligence solutions, with Data Warehouse and OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing) tools. These solutions allow the company's performance to be controlled in the most diverse aspects, always taking into account the true information needs for better and more efficient decision making, creating truly actionable information, in order to ensure the company's competitiveness. This report aims to present the activities performed during the internship carried out at Milestone Consulting, S.A, for the conclusion of the Master’S in Information Systems Management, of the Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão (ISEG), part of the Universidade de Lisboa. This internship aimed to acquire knowledge and experience in Enterprise Performance Management projects. In this context, the intern was inserted in a SAP BPC (Business Planning and Consolidation) project, being responsible for the creation of database queries and reports. The SAP ERP system and the tools ECLIPSE IDE and SAP Analysis for Office were used during the project.
