- A comparative analysis of the ‘drug-device combination’ regulatory aspects in the europe union, USA and AfricaPublication . Estas combinações são Especialmente benéfico para pacientes que sofrem de doenças potencialmente fatais, tais como: múltiplas esclerose, cancro, malformações congénitas, diabetes e muito mais. Este aumento A complexidade das tecnologias de saúde levou a complexidades ainda maiores na e, por isso, há necessidade de comparar a regulamentação destes tecnologia de saúde em todo o mundo para impulsionar o desenvolvimento de processos e, em seguida, impulsionar seus primeiros acesso aos doentes que deles necessitam, promover a inovação e reduzir a duplicação de trabalho. Esta tese tem como objetivo comparar como as combinações fármaco-dispositivo são reguladas em vários agências reguladoras na União Europeia (UE), nos EUA e em África. Esta pesquisa foi realizada através da recolha de dados através da consulta a diferentes agências reguladoras e motores de pesquisa de dados. A análise dos dados recolhidos resultou na descoberta de várias formas através do qual a regulação das combinações medicamentosas e dispositivos pode ser melhorada em toda a diferentes agências reguladoras envolvidas. Na UE, a combinação é regulamentada como um medicamento ou um dispositivo, dependendo do seu modo de ação primário (PMOA), assegurando ao mesmo tempo que a outra parte está em conformidade com normas regulatórias, nos EUA, a FDA atribui um centro para lidar com sua regulamentação dependendo do PMOA, o centro designado consulta outros centros quando e se necessário. Na África, há uma série de órgãos reguladores, portanto, a regulamentação é menos padronizada. Embora algumas entidades reguladoras regulem as diferentes partes separadamente, independentemente da PMOA, alguns outros regulam dependendo do PMOA percebido da combinação produto. Para exemplificar as diferentes vias regulatórias foram discutidos dois estudos de caso: Preservativo espermicida e escova dopada com Fe. Esta tese analisou os dois fármacos-dispositivos produtos combinados, detalhando como são regulamentados nas regiões estudadas. Ambos são produtos que podem colocar desafios regulamentares únicos, sendo que pode ser difícil determinar o PMOA exato e pode ser regulado, dependendo da região em um caso-a-caso base casuística. As conclusões indicam que as diferentes entidades reguladoras nas diferentes regiões dispor de diferentes métodos para regular o processo de combinação fármaco-dispositivo e Se adotarmos um método específico nas diferentes regiões, haverá o Possibilidade de harmonizar a regulamentação até ao ponto de uma comercialização única autorização emitida por qualquer uma das regiões seria tudo o que é necessário para colocar o produto no mercado nestas regiões. Tal reduzirá a carga dos processos regulamentares, poupando tempo e recursos e levar a um acesso mais precoce aos pacientes que deles necessitam.
- Sintra street art mapping : um arquivo para a memória e exploração visual de street art do concelho de SintraPublication . Alpoim, Marco André Gomes; Almeida, Pedro Jorge Gracio dos Santos Duarte de; Nicolas, António José da CostaSintra Street Art Mapping is a project that aims to record, map and present artistic expressions, of an ephemeral nature, within the scope of Street Art, that populate Sintra municipality. This project is implemented through a web-based platform that presents these contents in the form of a map, an archive and a network of conceptual connections and which, in this way, perpetuates these artistic objects for future memory. Following an action-based methodology and implemented through a project proposal, the research is developed in three stages. First, we provide a theoretical framework about Street Art, seeking to identify its conceptual and historical genesis, its essential features and its main expression formats. In parallel, we address the implications that these artistic expressions may have in relation to social dynamics, in particular regarding countercultural affirmation in public space. Afterwards, three projects are studied which, through thematic coincidence (The Urban Art Mapping) and the structure and presentation of content (Forgotten Heritage, Living Archive), serve as a reference for the preparation of the project. Finally, the prototype of the interactive and participatory platform is developed. Comprising both a theoretical and practical dimension, this research allows, on the one hand, to understand the conceptual, formal and expressive scope of Street Art and to probe its relationships with social dynamics and, on the other hand, to configure an interactive and participatory platform which allows to register, archive, understand and present its expressions in Sintra. Responding to the initial research motivations, this project allows us to recognize the growing presence and relevance of Street Art in Sintra public space and also the importance of mapping, disseminating and reflecting on this artistic phenomenon, particularly regarding its relationship with local communities. In parallel, the web platform exemplifies the usefulness of interactive and participatory tools for recording and presenting these ephemeral artistic expressions and their potential to encourage reflection and assist future research on this topic
- A mente do intrusoPublication . Cotrim, Joana Rita dos Santos; Santos, Maria Alice Barriga Geirinhas dosThis project The Intruder’s Mind is a retrospective of my academic journey as an art student. It is divided into three parts; starting with the theoretical part of the genre of the individuality of the autobiographical self, with reference to the theorists Lejeune, De Man and Barthes, and then exploring three case studies of artists, Tracey Emin, Christian Boltanski and William Kentridge, who approach autobiography in their artistic process. Finally, with The Intruder’s Mind project, I present my own case study — Joana Cotrim's autobiography —, with the revelation of three drawing series, in the visual representation of the fragmentation of individual and collective memory.

Gusmão, Mariana Lima das Neves Nobre de; Almeida, Pedro Miguel Abelha de LapaO presente século é definido pela permeabilidade da condição de agência a um conjunto heterogéneo de entidades, perante lógicas do pós humano, nas quais as práticas artísticas contemporâneas têm procura do redefinir ontologicamente a natureza de conceções tradicionais como obra, artista e medium. Lidas à luz de correntes de pensamento centradas na materialidade, identidade e subjetividade, as questões levantadas no decorrer desta investigação destinam-se a compreender o caráter de vitalismo e capacidade no cerne da autoria artística e do sistema criativo, por meio do desmembramento de fenómenos ético estéticos que reforçam a arbitrariedade da existência e que confluem em lógicas de interdependência, coletividade e agregação.
- Desenho contemporâneo do mestre Lagoa Henriques nos acervos da Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa : estudo, catalogação e conservação preventivaPublication . Martins, Guilherme de Ornelas; Soares, Clara Moura; Alves, Alice NogueiraA presente dissertação de mestrado tem como tema principal a coleção de desenhos do artista António Augusto Lagoa Henriques (27/12/1923 - 21/02/2009) que se encontra na Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa, centrado nos “Desenhos sobre as Mesas”. Assenta, particularmente, no estudo, na inventariação, na catalogação, na integração das obras na Reserva de Desenho da Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa e, por último, na sua divulgação. Para se contribuir para a preservação dos desenhos em acervo serão apresentadas diversas questões relativas à Conservação Preventiva dos mesmos. O primeiro objetivo desta dissertação consiste numa abordagem da vida e da obra do artista. Este primeiro capítulo visa dar a conhecer o artista pormenorizadamente de forma a se melhor se compreender a obra mais à frente apresentada. No capítulo seguinte, com o auxílio de um modelo de ficha de inventário, criado por nós, serão apresentadas as 342 obras que constituem o objeto de estudo desta dissertação. Seguidamente, e de modo a integrar as obras de Lagoa Henriques no Legado Lagoa Henriques da Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa, de acordo com as normas referidas foram postos em prática diferentes processos de acondicionamento que são devidamente descritos. Por fim, tendo realizado o acondicionamento das obras, na Reserva de Desenho da Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa, apresentam-se as recomendações de conservação preventiva direcionadas para este espaço.
- Populism: a comparative study of thatcherism, peronism and the american populistsPublication . Carreira da Silva, Filipe; Brito Vieira, MonicaThis article re-examines the race-populism nexus. It asks: Does populist political construction of the figure of 'the people' necessarily involve processes of racial othering? We answer this question by revisiting three emblematic cases of populism. Each historical case illustrates a basic type of identity formation that can have an i) exclusionary, ii) ambivalent or iii) positive impact on racial justice. The first case is Thatcherism, whose 'authoritarian populism' feeds on and reinforces anti-Black racial prejudice. The second is Peronism, which has an ambivalent relationship with race that promises to shed important new light on this classic case of populism. The third case is that of the American Populists, whose pioneering experiments in interracial politics remain an enduring illustration of populism's progressive potential. In each case, we focus on a key document from that political regime/movement: the Conservative Manifesto of 1979, the Peronist Constitution of 1949, and the Omaha Platform of 1892. The article concludes that populism, as a logic of action, acts as a catalyst that intensifies whatever specific content is mobilised - racist and anti-racist content alike.

- Last hunter-gatherers in Eurasia : a comparative approach to shell midden site structure and function between Atlantic Europe and JapanPublication . Nukushina, Diana Rita da Graça; Diniz, Mariana Teodósia de Lemos Castelo Branco; Marchand, Grégor; Matsumoto, NaokoThe construction of shell middens is a common characteristic of several of the last hunter-gatherer groups of Holocene Eurasia that occupied diverse environments, usually with significant aquatic components. In particular, numerous shell middens have been found in the archaeological record of the Late Mesolithic in Atlantic Europe and the Jomon period in the Japanese archipelago, notably the period from the end of the 9th millennium cal BP to the end of the 4th millennium cal BP (Middle and early Late Holocene). However, despite the long history of research and the high quantity of available archaeological data on these sites, systematic comparative approaches to the shell midden phenomenon between these two regions have been lacking. Furthermore, shell middens have often attracted researchers because of the richness of their contents and their frequent funerary nature, while much less attention has been given to the formation, structure and overall function of the sites themselves. This thesis examines how shell middens were internally structured and used by Middle and early Late Holocene hunter-gatherer groups in Atlantic Europe and Japan, providing the first contribution to a transcultural comparative perspective on the shell midden phenomenon and their builders from these two extremities of Eurasia. It presents a review and analysis of available archaeological data and existing local and regional perspectives on shell midden site structure and function based on several Late Mesolithic and Jomon sites from Atlantic Europe and Japan. Case studies from Portugal, north-west France and western Japan (Okayama region) are further developed through different methodologies that comprise an analysis of the parameters of the archaeological sites, written and graphic documentation from past excavations and intra-site spatial distribution of material remains with a focus on lithic material. Structured comparisons between Atlantic Europe and Japan are established throughout the thesis and integrated into a broader discussion of shell midden research, the meaning of these accumulations and the characteristics of the Holocene hunter-gatherer societies that constructed and left them behind in the two regions.
- Amilcar Cabral, Colonial Soil and the Politics of InsubmissionPublication . Carreira da Silva, Filipe; Brito Vieira, MonicaThis article discusses the concept of “insubmission.” This concept is the cornerstone of Amílcar Cabral’s critical theory. Introduced in his early agronomic writings, it refers to the human species’ refusal to submit to the nature of which we are always a part. The context is the anticolonial critique of traditional European humanism. Insubmission is Cabral’s response to the dehumanising effects of colonialism and the environmental impact of anthropocentric extractivism that accompanies it. As a linchpin in Cabral’s theoretical framework, insubmission serves to structure and impart meaning to other concepts. Notably, it provides fresh insights into the multifaceted concept of “resistance.” Cabral underscores the imperative of combating dehumanisation through physical fortitude (physical and armed resistance), intellectual resilience (cultural resistance), and institutional strength (political resistance). Additionally, it emphasises the necessity of averting environmental catastrophes through a socio-economic development model (economic resistance) underpinned by a resolute ethical commitment to responsible soil conservation practices.
