- O impacto das redes sociais no marketing: perspectiva portuguesaPublication . O poder das comunicações das marcas deixou de estar centrada apenas nas iniciativas das empresas, o que permitiu um novo relacionamento das marcas com o consumidor, transformando-o num Prosumer. As Redes Sociais e a importância que as suas plataformas assumem na nossa vida, o que para alguns autores é uma extensão da vida real, permitem esta proximidade e, sobretudo, a interactividade. Nas Redes Sociais os utilizadores replicam a sua vida profissional, pessoal, as suas preocupações e estados de espírito. As marcas ainda têm alguma margem de aproveitamento destas plataformas e existem boas (e más) práticas que permitem encontrar a melhor solução para os objectivos específicos das empresas. Com este estudo exploratório pretende-se obter uma análise aos inquiridos portugueses enquanto utilizadores de Redes Sociais e perceber a sua relação com as marcas, com a criação de Word of mouth e efeitos na compra, decorrente da presença da Marca na Rede Social.

Abreu, Fábio Duarte Teles; Duarte, Rui BarreirosO efémero como estratégia, decorre da necessidade de dar resposta adequada a um problema específico: um 'abrigo' respondendo a diversos contextos da adversidade - catátrofes, deslocações humanas, acontecimentos lúdicos, festivos ou tematizados, eventos sociais e feiras. Os desafios colocados implicam aumentar a rapidez de execução, a facilidade de transporte e a capacidade de adaptação a soluções temporárias de natureza religiosa ou apoio ao poder político, de âmbito social, cultural ou comercial. Eventos sociais, exposições - as 'expos' - , eventos urbanos, concertos e festivais musicais, feiras de artesanato, desfiles de moda e as feiras, - como a Feira do Livro -, utilizam estruturas efémeras para uma função específica durante um tempo restrito. O seu design potencia a capacidade de tirarem partido do universo da contingência: utilizando diferentes materiais em função dos objectivos ou pela introdução de elementos inovadores, contribuem para a conceptualização e exploração dum imaginário específico. Os desenvolvimentos tecnológicos constituem hoje um domínio experimental com enorme potencial no âmbito das construções efémeras. Os modelos são melhorados, utilizam-se novos materiais e estruturas, num processo sobre o qual o design actua. Redefinem-se modelos conceptuais e metodologias de abordagem a um problema, e operacionalizam-se processos criativos que permitam colocar produtos competitivos no mercado.

Microencapsulates were analysed for morphology and structure, releasing ability of entrapped EO, as evaluated by diffusion coefficient (D) and bioactivity.
- Time-varying fiscal policy in the U.S.Publication . Pereira, Manuel Coutinho; Lopes, Artur SilvaTo investigate time heterogeneity in the e¤ects of fiscal policy in theU.S., we use a non-recursive, Blanchard and Perotti-like structural VAR with time-varying parameters, estimated through Bayesian simulation over the 1965:2-2009:2 period. Our evidence suggests that fiscal policy has lost some capacity to stimulate output but that this trend is more pronounced for taxes net of transfers than for government expenditure, whose e¤ectiveness declines only slightly. Fiscal multipliers keep conventional signs throughout. An investigation of changes in fiscal policy conduct indicates an increase in the countercyclical activism of net taxes over time, which appears to have reached a maximum during the 2008-09 recession.

Vieira, Cheila Teixeira; Pereira, António GarciaO objecto de estudo do presente trabalho é a precariedade laboral entre os trabalhadores da construção civil da Região de Lisboa e o objectivo geral é analisar em que medida as empresas de construção civil sedeadas em Lisboa constituem-se ou não como fontes de criação de emprego precário em Portugal, tomando como foco de análise os trabalhadores imigrantes oriundos de países do Leste Europeu, Brasil, Ásia e África. Com vista ao cumprimento deste objectivo, este estudo adoptou uma metodologia assente em inquérito por questionário e entrevista semi-directivas junto dos proprietários e elementos da direcção das empresas de construção civil e sindicato da Indústria de Construção Civil.

- Social presence and cognitive presence in an online training program for teachers of Portuguese: relation and methodological issuesPublication . Jorge, IdalinaDesigning activities based on dialogue, such as forums, encouraging interaction between the tutor and the students and among students has proved to influence positively on students’ motivation, sense of community and engagement (Jorge, 2001; Jorge, 2006). Social presence has been defined as the participants’ ability to project both socially and emotionally (Rourke et al., 2001); cognitive presence has been defined as the participants’ ability to build knowledge and reflect collaboratively (Garrison et al, 2001). Building on the community of inquiry model (Garrison & Anderson, 2003), a research was conducted to relate social and cognitive presence, and verify on which dimensions of both variables the correlation was more evident. The teacher training program Navegar no Português (Sailing in Portuguese) was a nationwide project to improve the scientific, didactic and computer skills of the teachers involved. More than 200 teachers, both tutors and students, were organized in 11 regional teams. This research was designed to assess social and cognitive presence in eleven online forums. Correlations among dimensions of social and cognitive presence were established, in order to detect if or how social presence is correlated to cognitive presence. The association between cognitive and social presence only shows evident at the phases of exploration and integration of the first. In fact, in triggering and resolution messages, social utterances hardly occur. The analysis of significance value associated with chi-square test finds that there is a relationship and dependence between these two variables. The degree of association proves significant, though not very intense. The stage of exploration shows a higher correlation with connectivity and self-disclosure, being both functions represented in a balanced manner. Results don´t indicate that greater interactivity was associated with higher levels of reflexivity. My data also show that the types of self-disclosure and connectivity increase when the cohesive decrease. The first is associated with early stages of discussion. Once these phases are overcome, relations stabilize at a level of respect and mutual acceptance and students are more focused on cognitive goals.
- Educational texts and contexts that work: Discussing the optimization of a model of pedagogic practicePublication . Morais, Ana; Neves, Isabel P.This study starts from research that intended to find out answers to the major problem of improving the learning of students, especially the disadvantaged, without decreasing the level of conceptual demand. The research has been focused on family’s and school’s learning contexts, teachers’ education contexts and also on the contexts of syllabuses’ and textbooks’ construction. Various models have been constructed to direct the research and to analyse the results. Along the whole process of research, a model that conceptualises a school pedagogic practice that seems to have the potential to lead children to success at school was achieved, narrowing the gap between children from differentiated social backgrounds. Bernstein’s theory of pedagogic discourse has provided the main theoretical framework to the studies. This paper intends to: (a) present the model and describe its characteristics; (b) present the model at work; (c) explain how the model can be extended to the contexts of teacher education and curricula and syllabuses construction; and (d) discuss the optimization of the model in order that a more precise model will be tested in future research.
- Comunicação mediada pelo computador: Tendências da investigação: de Henri, 1991 a Fini & Molino, Maio de 2010Publication . Jorge, IdalinaEste estudo tem por objectivo rever a literatura e as tendências da investigação em comunicação mediada por computadores, em contextos de aprendizagem formal, publicada entre 1992 e 2010. Para tal, foram seleccionados 238 artigos de investigação primária, acedidos através da base de dados EBSCO e da publicação on-line Journal of Computer Mediated Communication. O objectivo foi determinar os assuntos estudados, a afiliação dos autores, as perspectivas teóricas, as variáveis estudadas, as unidades de análise utilizadas, os procedimentos de confiança, os paradigmas da investigação, as populações, as dificuldades metodológicas relatadas e as tendências conceptuais e metodológicas. Embora não possamos falar de tendências claras na investigação, reconhecem-se quatro perspectivas teóricas predominantes - a da comunicação e da linguagem, a sociológica, a psicológica e a da interface humano-computador - e ainda dificuldades metodológicas associadas à análise de conteúdo, para as quais algumas propostas têm vindo a ser alvitradas.
- Cutting Edge : adaptive versus innate receptor signals selectively control the pool sizes of murine IFN-γ- or IL-17-producing γβ T cells upon infectionPublication . Contributing to this is their responsiveness to pathogen products, either with or without the involvement of the TCR and its coreceptors. This study clarifies this paradoxical behavior by showing that these two modes of responsiveness are the properties of two discrete sets of murine lymphoid γβ T cells. Thus, MyD88 deficiency severely impaired the response to malaria infection of CD27(-), IL-17A–producing γβ T cells, but not of IFN-γ–producing γβ cells. Instead, the latter compartment was severely contracted by ablating CD27, which synergizes with TCRγβ in the induction of antiapoptotic mediators and cell cycle-promoting genes in CD27(+), IFN-γ–secreting γβ T cells. Hence, innate versus adaptive receptors differentially control the peripheral pool sizes of discrete proinflammatory γβ T cell subsets during immune responses to infection.
