O presente trabalho de investigação procura contribuir para o aprofundamento e clarificação do significado de Street Art. Partiu-se do princípio que o street art é uma forma de comunicar com a sociedade, expondo ideias e formas de pensar sobre assuntos e problemas da vida quotidiana.
Para a concretização deste trabalho, através de uma metodologia de um estudo de caso com carater etnográfico, realizou-se um trabalho de campo, de observação de dois processos criativos do artista Bordalo II, juntamente com uma entrevista do mesmo. Através do estudo do mesmo, foi possível constatar que o street art, tem a capacidade de unir a juventude, a cultura popular e os novos movimentos sociais, na forma como cria alternativas culturais e educativas na construção de valores, visões, ideias, sentidos, significados e saberes, através de contributos originais e genuínos, como as peças e as intervenções do artista Bordalo II.
Ao mesmo tempo, a investigação permitiu, realizar uma reflexão sobre percurso de vida e as motivações de um artista que promove este tipo de atuação, para uma melhor constatação deste tipo de arte e de intervenção.
The present work of research seeks to contribute to the deepening and clarification of the meaning of Street Art. It was assumed that street art is a way of communicating with society, exposing ideas and ways of thinking about subjects and problems of daily life. For the accomplishment of this work, through a methodology of a case study with ethnographic character, a field work was done, observing two creative processes of the artist Bordalo II, along with an interview of the same one. Through the study of the same, it was possible to verify that street art, has the ability to unite youth, popular culture and new social movements, in the way it creates cultural and educational alternatives in the construction of values, visions, ideas, meanings, and knowledge through original and genuine contributions, as the pieces and the interventions of the artist Bordalo II. At the same time, the investigation allowed to make a reflection on the life course and the motivations of an artist who promotes this type of performance, for a better realization of this type of art and intervention.
