Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT: Organic architecture comes from the idea of a natural development, integrated to a complex dynamic of organized parts in a harmonic whole, in which the architectural creation dialogues with its surroundings in a symbiotic way, as a single organism. The central key of this investigation explores the understanding that the global notion of Organic Architecture is not defined by a stylistic or aesthetic strict principle, although there is a theorization about the theme, especially in the work of Frank Lloyd Wright, which find roots in natural processes and in the integration of architecture and environment. Despite its diffusion, the organic theory presents ramifications, due to its historical origins and diverse approaches that created a fluid concept, perceived in different ways, sometimes complementary or diffuse, which have similarities, however under specific aspects, diverge conceptually. The objective of the investigation is to identify the interfaces between architecture and nature, in its different approaches: the one that values the natural order, the one that seeks natural aesthetics, the one that is concerned with integration with the landscape, the one that emphasizes the natural materials, and others, in addition to presenting their historical origins, related thoughts and analysis of representative projects.
