Abstract(s)
O presente trabalho pretende estudar as implicações
Portugal.
The concept of hybridization of productive models, related to the displacement of production, becomes especially significant within the framework of the internationalization/globalization of Japanese companies in the automobile sector. This paper aims to analyse the implications of those spatial strategies, mainly from a socio-organizational perspective, since the Japanese singularity and competitive advantage rely heavily on the human factor management within the organizations. Among the convergence (towards a unique, global model) and divergence (of the environments) theories, we take into consideration the hypothesis of the transfer of "lean" production^ work organization model towards new institutional and cultural scenarios. The scientific approach developed is then tested through a case study undertaken at a Japanese transnacional company dealing with the manufacture and assembly of light trucks set in Portugal.
