The shortage of qualified human resources is not something new, 30 years ago the term "war for talent" was used to describe the intensification of competition in recruiting and retaining the best talents. Technology and virtual work tools have allowed for the overcoming of geographical barriers in recruitment, leading multinational companies to seek talent in other countries, such as Portugal. Retaining these professionals is crucial for the success of organizations, especially in the Information Technology sector. This global talent shortage has driven the emergence of Employer Branding (EB) as a strategy for retaining professionals (Lloyd, 2002). The aim of this study was to understand the impact of EB and it’s different dimensions on the retention of Information Technology professionals in Portugal. A quantitative methodological approach was used, involving the creation of an online questionnaire survey that collected 68 responses. The IBM SPSS statistical software (Model 27) was used to analyze the data. It was concluded that Economic Value has a significant impact on the retention of these professionals. Significant differences were also identified in terms of the demographic variables under study, including gender, age, level of education, and tenure in the organization.
