Abstract(s)
experiência a arquitectura.
more.
ABSTRACT - This “Relatório de Final de Mestrado” intends to study the wood and its potential in the field of perception, aesthetics and techniques as the only material to be used in the conception of the final project. It also wants to understand what advantages and contradictions this usage brings to the functional, formal and percept ional comprehension, both of the building itself in its urban scale and of the indoor spaces. It intends to show that the selected materials, the way they are treated and how they are combined have huge influence in the way the architecture is experienced. Many times, the most assertive response lies in the conscious use of traditionally considered techniques and materials, favouring an architecture that must be prepared to answer the contemporary needs and not to egos or to an enormous eagerness to explore several or new materials aiming to deceive with impressions, instead of conquering with relevant experiences. It is believed that less means more
