O objecto de análise deste trabalho é o estudo, a partir das fontes disponíveis, da cultura
organizacional da Escola Comercial de Lourenço Marques, durante o período do Estado
Novo (1952-1974).
O projecto de dissertação tem por horizonte estabelecer um paralelo entre o Ensino
Técnico Profissional na Metrópole e a “Estruturação do Ensino Técnico Profissional -
Comercial em Lourenço Marques durante o Estado Novo”, tomando como ponto de
partida para a investigação, o estudo de uma instituição.
É a partir de uma descrição e análise da Política Educativa do Estado Novo relacionada
com o Ensino Técnico Profissional e em particular da Política Educativa Colonial, que
se inicia o estudo da Escola Comercial de Lourenço Marques. Nesse estudo privilegiouse
análise do espaço, do tempo, a relação entre os actores educativos, o currículo, a
frequência escolar, o rendimento e as actividades circum-escolares, relacionadas com a
actividade da Mocidade Portuguesa na Escola. O que se pretende conhecer são as
relações entre os actores organizacionais, nas relações com o espaço e nas relações com
os saberes.
O trabalho assenta na elaboração de uma monografia da Escola em estudo, que tem por
base uma abordagem comparativa entre o Ensino Técnico-Profissional durante o Estado
Novo em Portugal e na Província de Moçambique, procurando-se encontrar aspectos
comuns mas também singularidades, nomeadamente compreender o papel do ensino e
em particular do ensino técnico na construção do sujeito colonial, e na resposta às
necessidades da política colonial.
Na concretização do projecto servimo-nos do arquivo e da memória (recorrendo a
testemunhos orais) como fontes privilegiadas para a pesquisa científica do passado da
instituição em estudo.
Num contexto de crescente importância do Ensino Técnico Profissional serve o presente
para trazer a lume algumas questões que não são de hoje mas que mantêm toda a
actualidade.
The object of analysis of this work is to study based on available sources the organizational culture of the Commercial School of Lourenço Marques during the period of the New State (1952-1974). The dissertation project has the intention of establishing a parallel between the Technical Professional Education in the Motherland and the “Structuring of the Technical Professional-Commercial Education in Lourenço Marques during the New State”, taking as a starting point for the investigation the study of an institution. The starting point of the study of the Lourenço Marques Commercial School is based on a description and analysis of the Educational Policy of the New State related to the Technical Professional Education and in particular of the Colonial Educational Policy. In this study prerogative is given to the analysis of space, time, the relation between the educational actors, the curriculum, school frequency, achievement and the circumscholar activities linked to activities of the Portuguese Youth in the School. What are intended to be Known are the relations amongst the organizational actors, in the relations with space and in the relations with knowledge. The work is based on the elaboration of a monograph of the School under study, having as its base a comparative approach between the Technical-Professional Education during the New State in Portugal and in the Province of Mozambique, trying to find common aspects but also singularities, namely understanding the role of education and in particular of technical education in the construction of the colonial subject and in the response to the needs of the colonial policy. To accomplish the project we made use of archives and memory (resorting to oral testimonies) as privileged sources for the scientific research of the past of the institution under study. Under the context of growing importance of Technical Professional Education the present work serves to highlight some issues that have not originated today but that maintain all its present day actuality.
