It is based on direct participatory observation conducted during the curricular internship carried out at that institution as part of the Master's Degree in Documentation and Information Sciences, and is supported by documentary and bibliographic analysis, as well as informal interviews, particularly with the professionals working in this space. The experience allowed for the identification of several constraints and consequently the development of a set of solutions aimed at ensuring the protection and preservation of information and by extension the documentary heritage inherent to the Moita Municipal Archive. Therefore, it is hoped that this research will serve as a support tool especially for the Moita Municipal Council leading to its critical reading, analysis, and awareness of the main security shortcomings identified in the Moita Municipal Archive, encouraging the adoption of measures aimed at safer management of all archival information.
