This article presents considerations about the Triangular Approach systematized by Ana Mae Barbosa and its relevance as a theory for the Primary School of Visual Arts in Brazil. This approach is anchored at three points: Reading, Doing, and Contextualizing, and proposes approximation of experience in Art, in which the student’s context is taken with relevance. Thereby it broadens the view of historical and social codes
