This dissertation, supported by a five-month internship from February to July 2024 at the David Catalán studio, explores the themes of workwear and streetwear, which are the primary areas of focus for the brand. The research is primarily motivated by the author’s desire to gain practical experience in a professional context, developing and refining key skills essential to fashion product development and its comprehensive management. Additionally, this study is driven by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has increased the demand for comfortable, practical pieces that retain a professional style suitable for remote work environments. The research design employs a dual-methodology approach: in the exploratory phase, a non-interventionist methodology is applied, allowing the author to investigate the context and history of workwear. In the generative phase, corresponding to the internship, an interventionist methodology is adopted, enabling the author to directly engage in the fashion creation and development process, based on the brand’s projects. Finally, this dissertation aims to provide a personal and professional contribution, gathering knowledge on workwear while offering a comprehensive perspective on the internship experience and formulating practical recommendations for future research.
