El artículo es una revisión crítica del problema de la datación y
autoría de la Crónica do Mosteiro de Jesus y Memorial da Infanta Santa
Joana, textos en portugués escritos en el primer cuarto del siglo xvi (1513-
1525) por una monja dominicana, compañera de la princesa Santa Juana,
hija de Alfonso V y hermana de D. Juan II de Portugal. Refuta las tesis que
atribuyen los dos textos a Margarita y a Catalina Pinheira y defiende la autoría
de Isabel Luís, copista y maestra de novicias en el Monasterio de Jesús
de Aveiro, apoyándose en argumentos históricos, de crítica interna del texto
y paleográficos.
The article is a critical review of the problem of dating and authorship of the Crónica do Mosteiro de Jesus and of the Memorial da Infanta Santa Joana, Portuguese texts written in the first quarter of the sixteenth century (1513-1525) by a dominican nun, companion of Princess Saint Joan, daughter of Alfonso V and sister of John II of Portugal. Refutes the thesis which attributes the texts to Margaret and Catherine Pinheira and advocates the authorship of Isabel Luís, copyist and teatcher of novices at the Monastery of Jesus in Aveiro, relying on historical and paleographic arguments, and internal criticism of the text.
