This Final Master's project aims to reflect and study housing issues in Beira, proposing solutions to reconfigure the city. Based on traditional methods of vernacular architecture and incorporating Mozambican culture, the proposal aims to respond to the largest number of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), solving problems based on 5 fundamental principles: Planet, People, Prosperity, Partnerships and Peace. The project includes the creation of a new strategic urban center, with community facilities and a housing neighborhood, promoting interaction and social cohesion. Adopting a participatory architectural approach, the project seeks to integrate the local community, developing a structure that evolves and adapts to the needs of the population. The initiative aims to catalyze changes that meet social aspirations and needs, promoting their integration. By looking at the past and planning the future, the proposal offers a new concept of urban housing, valuing community life and respecting the principles of traditional Mozambican architecture.
