Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT: Madrid, like other major cities, was not planned and generated as a whole. It results from a set of many different urban contexts, originating transitional spaces between them, who are often fragmented spaces with bads accessibilities and architectural characterization, incapable of generating urban space with quality and references, although these spaces sometimes have enourmous potential. The urban context chosen for the development of this work fits the characteristics described above and, our main objective, is the consolidation of the surrounding urban context of the Chamartín station in Madrid by qualifying the urban space and the pedestrian acessibilities between the surrounding area and the station. For this, we developed an architectural project adapted to the needs and characteristics of the place, wich can enhance the surrounding environment and take advantage of the services provided by the Chamartín intermodal station. In this sense, our proposal consistes in different building equipments destined to the arts, culture and science, constituted by theater rooms, amphitheatres, exibition halls, auditoriums, a library, event halls, educational spaces, temporary residences, among others. The proposed architectural program requires a large flow of users and loads allowing us to take advantage of the existing public transport services facilitating the acess to the equipments, expecting that generates a positive impact that we have conclude by the studies and analyzes that we present in this work. From they, we have conclude that we should implementate an architectural equipment of this characteristics, that we find necessary and appropriated to the scale of the urban environment in wich it will be inserted, by their ability to regenerate it.
