Resumo(s)
A presente dissertação tem como objetivo refletir sobre a importância, e
consequente validação teórica, da possibilidade de implementação de um serviço
educativo na Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal. Através da análise de teorias
conceptuais sobre a temática e dos sites institucionais de algumas Bibliotecas
Nacionais de outros países, bem como da validação de um inquérito realizado através
de uma pequena amostra da população portuguesa, pretendeu-se por em foco a
discussão sobre a temática, que se julga premente.
Tendo como pano de fundo: a educação; a arte; a sociologia e a filosofia da
cultura; a educação pela arte; as teorias pedagógicas; a educação ao longo da vida; os
programas políticos para a alfabetização da população no tempo da 1ª República
portuguesa e as propostas eleitorais atuais dos principais partidos; as propostas de
bibliotecas nacionais enquanto exemplo de boas práticas; as orientações das principais
instituições europeias - tais como a IFLA e a UNESCO - que desenvolvem o seu
trabalho em torno destas questões e, por fim, as teorias da nova escola advinda das
luzes francesas; procura-se justificar e provar que a criação de um Serviço Educativo
é, para além de muito importante, extremamente necessária.
Para uma melhor aproximação à recetividade da proposta foi criado um
inquérito para auscultação da população. Deste surgiram uma série de resultados que,
posteriormente, foram traduzidos em gráficos e tabelas de fácil leitura.
Os resultados, apesar de não exaustivos, foram muito esclarecedores sobre a
real necessidade de implantação deste tipo de serviço.
This thesis aims to reflect on the importance and consequent theoretical validation of the possibility of implementing an educational service in the National Library of Portugal. Through the analysis of conceptual theories on the subject and institutional sites of some national libraries of other countries, as well as the validation of a survey conducted by a small sample of the Portuguese population, it was intended to focus the discussion on the topic this theme, which is thought of pressing. Against the background: education; the art; sociology and philosophy of culture; education in art; pedagogical theories; education throughout life; political programs for literacy of the population at the time of the 1st Portuguese Republic and the current electoral proposals of the major parties; proposals for national libraries are an example of good practice; the guidelines of the main European institutions - such as IFLA and UNESCO - to develop their work around these issues; and finally the theories of the new school which come from French lights; seeks to justify and prove that the creation of an educational service is in addition to a very important, very necessary. For a better approach to the receptivity of the proposal a survey to auscultation of the population was created. From this emerged a series of results that were later translated into graphics and easy to read tables. Although not exhaustive the results were very informative about the real need to implement this type of service.
