Neste Projeto Final de Mestrado, pretende-se abordar e repensar o modo como se intervém na cidade e no património, nomeadamente no que se refere à excessiva infraestruturação que na sua maioria transforma e descaracteriza o território.
O Vale de Alcântara será o local de intervenção, em que a sua desinfraestruturação parcial será a abordagem a seguir, com o objetivo de libertar o centro do vale e resgatar a sua imagem, as suas características e ambiências de espaço natural que foi de origem e que foram sendo perdidas.
O objetivo será, então, reintegrar a relação do vale e da cidade com a natureza, nomeadamente o espaço rural tão característico do lugar no passado. Isto permitirá constituir um corredor verde com ligação ao Parque Florestal de Monsanto. Assim, o vale irá perder os fatores atuais que o transformam em espaço de segregação social e habitacional, tornando-se numa oportunidade para o desenvolvimento de uma proposta que responda às necessidades de uma sociedade que se encontra, também, em constante transformação e evolução de valores culturais e sociais, nomeadamente através de espaços mais flexíveis e adaptáveis funcionalmente.
Deste modo, será proposto um plano urbano que defina a encosta do vale e, assim, consolida-lo e integrá-lo com a cidade.
ABSTRACT: In this Final Master Project, we intend to approach and rethink the way in which we intervene in the city and in the heritage, especially with regard to the excessive infrastructure that transforms and de-characterizes the territory. The Alcântara Valley will be the place of intervention, in which we partial eliminate the infrastructures will be the following approach, with the purpose of liberating the center of the valley and recovering its image, its characteristics and natural space ambiences that were present in its origin and which were being lost. The objective will be to reintegrate the relation of the valley and the city with the nature, namely the rural space so characteristic of the place in the past. This will allow to form a green corridor with connection to the Monsanto Forest Park. Thus, the valley will lose the current factors that transform it into a space of social and housing segregation, to becoming an opportunity for the development of a proposal that responds to the needs of a society that is also in constant transformation and evolution of cultural and social values, especially through more flexible and functionally adaptable spaces. In this way, an urban plan will be proposed that defines the slopes of the valley and, thus, consolidates it and integrates it with the city.
