A presente dissertação visa o estudo e a fundamentação
dos conhecimentos teóricos para o desenvolvimento do Projecto
final de Mestrado. Para o efeito, os principais conteúdos programáticos
abordados à sua elaboração constituem: a definição de
um território a intervir, a frente ribeirinha, e dos conceitos a estudar,
as alterações climáticas, a evolução da relação cidade-porto,
as estratégias de regeneração urbana, e a estrutura ecológica.
Os territórios ribeirinhos encontram-se vulneravelmente associados
ao fenómeno das alterações climáticas, sendo que cada
vez mais se impõe o risco de agravamento de cheias e inundações.
Neste contexto, o caso em estudo incide na frente ribeirinha
de Algés, nomeadamente o Terrapleno de Algés e a Doca de Pedrouços
que estabelecem uma posição importante com o Estuário
do Tejo.
Pretende-se resolver a problemática disruptiva através do
desenvolvimento de um projecto de regeneração urbana capaz
de adaptar o território para um futuro cenário extremo no horizonte
do ano 2100 tanto a nível estratégico como à escala urbana e do
espaço público tendo como motor uma intervenção apoiada em
continuidades ecológicas.
ABSTRACT: This dissertation aims at the study and the foundation of the theoretical knowledge for the development of the final Master’s Project. To this end, the main syllabus covered in its elaboration are: the definition of a territory to intervene, the riverfront, and the concepts to study, climate change, the evolution of the city-port relationship, urban regeneration strategies and ecological structure. Riverside territories are vulnerable to climate change, and there is an increasing risk of flooding. In this context, the case under study focuses on the Algés riverfront, namely the Algés Terrapleno and the Pedrouços Dock, which establish an important position with the Tagus Estuary. The aim is to solve the disruptive problem through the development of an urban regeneration project capable of adapting the territory to a future extreme scenario on the horizon of the year 2100, at the strategic level and at the urban and public space level, based on an intervention supported by ecological continuities.
