Esta dissertação pretende contribuir para o debate sobre a imigração em Portugal, especificamente, a perceção dos portugueses sobre a imigração. O foco do estudo é na União das freguesias de A-dos-Cunhados e da Maceira e da sua população residente, com o intuito de analisar a sua perceção da população imigrante, através dos conceitos de integração social e coesão social. Os dados obtidos através das respostas de 51 residentes da freguesia ao questionário realizado via online, apresentam uma perceção maioritariamente negativa da população imigrante, no qual destaca-se a diferenciação cultural, social e religiosa, a responsabilidade do imigrante pela falta de integração e a falta de sentimento de comunidade entre estas duas populações, por razões de segregação e falta de interação.
This dissertation aims to contribute to the debate on immigration in Portugal, specifically the Portuguese perception of immigration. The focus of the study is on the Union of Parishes of A-dos-Cunhados and Maceira and its resident population, with the aim of analysing their perception of the immigrant population through the concepts of social integration and social cohesion. The data obtained from the responses of 51 residents of the parish to the online questionnaire shows a mostly negative perception of the immigrant population, in which the cultural, social and religious differentiation stands out, the immigrant's responsibility for the lack of integration and the lack of community feeling between these two populations, for reasons of segregation and lack of interaction.
