Resumo(s)
A presente investigação analisa o impacto provocado pelas emoções expressas pelo/a líder no desempenho do/a liderado/a.
Os resultados da investigação desenvolvida colocam um pouco em crise a ideia relativamente comum de que as emoções positivas expressas pelo/a líder incrementam o nível de desempenho do/a liderado/a, e as emoções negativas fazem decrescer o mesmo.
Com efeito, e confirmando-se que as emoções expressas impactam o desempenho, não deixa de ser relevante que algumas emoções negativas expressas pelo/a líder possam na verdade impactar positivamente o desempenho do/a liderado/a, e algumas emoções positivas possam afinal ter uma influência negativa.
Considerando a originalidade de uma investigação sobre o impacto das emoções do/a líder no desempenho do/a liderado/a no contexto português, esta investigação almeja poder ser um novo contributo quer teórico quer prático na área da liderança.
The present study analyses the impact on the subordinate's performance caused by the emotions expressed by the leader. The results of the developed research are somewhat contrary to the established idea that the positive emotions expressed by the leader increase the subordinate's performance level and the negative emotions decrease it. Therefore, and if one corroborates that the expressed emotions have an impact on the performance, it is still relevant that some negative emotions expressed by the leader may, in fact, have a positive impact on the subordinate's performance and some positive emotions may ultimately have a negative influence. Considering the investigation's originality about the leader's emotions impact on the performance of the subordinate in the Portuguese context, this study aims to be a new contribution, either theoretical or practical, in the leadership area.
