Resumo(s)
The approach of this master’s report is to highlight and understand the importance of
data recovery technologies, in specific Data backup. This report covers topics that
concerns system’s information professionals, such as: information security, business
continuity planning, data integrity, and the most relevant for the purpose of this work,
cloud computing. In addition, this work covers the activities and responsibilities that I
experienced in my internship as a support engineer in the backup and recovery service
area. This paper shows a practical point of view about the role that cloud computing
technology plays in realizing a backup plan within an organization. It is also focused on
some of the advantages and challenges in the use of cloud computing technology to
deploy and maintain data backups.
Finally, a conclusion is drawn from the literature review, the experience during the
internship, and the topics learned during the master's degree.
