Isto levou
The theme of this Final Master's Work (TFM) focuses on the concept of virtual leadership or e-leadership and the factors that lead to its success in a consulting company that operates in several international markets. The effort and boost given by the Covid-19 pandemic to remote work allowed for the globalization of teams and made territorial borders disappear. This led to virtual teams being equipped with elements from different cultures, leading to an increase in cultural diversity within organizations. In this way, respect and the ability to understand other cultures are considered fundamental, which involves them, through the demonstration of an intercultural sensitivity. The literature review allowed defining dimensions that are considered essential for a successful virtual leadership. The investigation, based on a case study, outlines interviews with four virtual leaders of a consulting company, who corroborate the facts highlighted by the literary review, precisely in terms of the importance of factors such as skills, trust, communication, influence and the control of functions and the cultural issues that are present in the context of virtual work. The results show that a virtual leader is expected to build relationships of trust with the team, delegating functions and responsibilities to his employees, communicate effectively through the technological tools at his disposal and acquire digital and human skills to face the advantages and maintaining virtual leadership and better management of a culturally diverse team.
