O presente relatório de estágio tem a finalidade de compreender as motivações para a
frequência de cursos de formação profissional e, ao mesmo tempo, os motivos para a
desistência desses cursos. A educação e formação são fundamentais para o desenvolvimento
pessoal e profissional do ser humano e das organizações. São múltiplos os motivos que levam
os indivíduos a procurarem formação assim como são também diversificados os motivos para o
seu abandono. Para compreender as razões da frequência e do abandono da formação
profissional foi realizada uma pequena investigação de natureza quantitativa. Foi aplicado um
inquérito por questionário a uma amostra de conveniência, constituída pelos formandos que
abandonaram a formação ministrada pela empresa onde o estágio foi realizado. Os resultados
mostram que os principais motivos são os de origem operacional profissional, económica e
prescritiva e os principais motivos para a desistência são os situacionais.
This internship report aims to understand the motivations for the attendance of vocational training courses and, at the same time, the reasons for the withdrawal of these courses. Education and training are fundamental for the personal and professional development of human beings and organisations. There are multiple reasons why individuals seek training, as well as the reasons for their abandonment are also diverse. In order to understand the reasons for the frequency and abandonment of vocational training, a small quantitative investigation was carried out. A questionnaire survey was applied to a convenience sample, consisting of the trainees who abandoned the training provided by the company where the internship was carried out. The results show that the main reasons are those of professional, economic, and prescriptive operational origin and the main reasons for giving up are situational.
