| dc.description.abstract | A relação entre o Homem e a Serra é algo que se perpetua no tempo. Desde sempre, o Homem sente a necessidade de se refugiar na Serra, independentemente das suas raízes. O percurso que aqui nasce pretende ser um veículo que potencia a relação do Homem com um contexto “natural” e paisagístico de excepção. Desta forma, ao longo de um percurso cinzelado sobre o Santuário da Peninha, tentam-se criar vários abrigos que oferecem múltiplos enquadramentos desta paisagem, convocando o visitante para sentir o cheiro da humidade no ar, ouvir o vento que passa entre as folhas, de maneira a reconhecer tudo isto como parte integrante de um sistema paisagístico de valor simbólico excepcional que ali permanece em estado de semiabandono. Uma intervenção incisiva e minimalista - a proposta contempla na sua maioria percursos e pequenos objetos arquitectónicos que permitem parar e apurar os sentidos - convida-se o visitante a redescobrir a Serra, enquanto palco potencial de uma experiência no âmbito estético do sublime. Ao longo do trabalho, o arquitecto é desafiado a imaginar e implementar um dispositivo de mediação entre o Homem e a Paisagem. Assim, durante todo o processo, procura-se calibrar e dimensionar a acção de transformação do território escolhido, de modo a ilustrar a prática da arquitectura como instrumental para a possibilidade de materializar a interdependência entre a inventividade humana e o contexto biofísico que, em última instância a suporta. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT: The relation between Men and Mountain rises from the dawn of time. Since the early ages, Man, regardless of its roots, feels the compulsion to take shelter in the Mountains. The trail unravelled here, seeks to be a catalyst bolstering the interrelation of Mankind with an exceptional “natural” and landscaping context. In this way and along this trail carved onto the “Santuário da Peninha”, it is endeavoured the creation of several retreats which tender multiple framings of the landscape, summoning the visitor to experience the smell of the air moisture, the hark of the wind in the rustling leaves, in such a way as to recognise all of these, as integral part of a landscaping system with exceptional symbolic value which remains in a half-forgotten condition. An incisive and minimalistic intervention – the proposal entails in its majority walking trails and small architectonic objects which enable a pause to sharpen the senses – the visitor is invited to re-discover the hills, as a potential stage of an experience in the aesthetical extent of the sublime. In the course of the work, the architect is challenged to engender and implement a set-up of mediation between Man and the Landscape. In this way and along the whole work, it is endeavoured to calibrate and dimension the action of transformation of the chosen terrain, in a way to illustrate the architectural practice as instrumental to the possibility of materialising the interdependency between men’s inventiveness and the biophysical context which, in ultimate resort inventividade men’s inventiveness and the biophysical context which, in ultimate resort gives it support. | |
