Resumo(s)
O presente Projeto Final de Mestrado em Arquitetura focaliza-se na revitalização de um vazio urbano na cidade da Amadora através da criação de uma praça e um novo equipamento ao qual designamos por Praça do Conhecimento e da Convivência Intercultural.
O edifício foi estruturado segundo duas diretrizes principais: a sua integração no terreno, onde a identidade natural do mesmo é preservada, e o seu contributo para o bem-estar e elevação da qualidade de vida da sua população (a nível social, educacional e cultural) da Amadora.
Tendo estas duas premissas iniciais, o foco do desenvolvimento programático e projetual centra-se sobre a seguinte questão de partida: de que modo a arquitetura poderá contribuir para menorizar o insucesso e abandono escolar, e simultaneamente proporcionar ferramentas para a o incremento dos níveis de educação e formação dos jovens da Amadora? Através de uma estratégia de sedução espacial, material, organizacional, comportamental e até simbólica, a arquitetura tem um impacto relevante no sentido de melhorar a situação escolar/formativa dos jovens com trajetos escolares não lineares e marcados por ruturas.
ABSTRACT: This Final Master's Project in Architecture focuses on the revitalization of an urban void in the city of Amadora through the creation of a square and new equipment which we call the Praça do Conhecimento e Convivência Intercultural. The building was structured according to two main guidelines: its integration into the intervention area, where its natural identity is preserved, and its contribution to the well-being and raising the quality of life of its population (socially, educationally) and cultural). With these two initial premises, the focus of programmatic and project development focuses on the following starting point: how architecture can contribute to lessening school failure and dropout, and at the same time provide tools for increasing levels of education and training of young people in Amadora? Through a strategy of spatial, material, organizational, behavioural and even symbolic seduction, the architecture will make its contribution to improving the school/training situation of young people with non-linear school paths marked by disruptions.
