| dc.description.abstract | O presente trabalho procura questionar e desenvolver a temática da reabilitação do Património Industrial, na sua dimensão de espaço intrínseco e pertencente à história da cidade, com potencialidades reconhecidas de poder também fazer parte do futuro da mesma. Sendo a temática da reabilitação fundamental para o desenvolvimento da disciplina arquitectónica actualmente, procura-se perceber a sua pertinência na contemporaneidade e quais as melhores formas de abordar a reabilitação para o futuro. Enquadrando a investigação na cidade de Lisboa, pretende-se estabelecer uma nova relação entre a cidade e o edificado outrora fundamental para o desenvolvimento da mesma, mas deixado entretanto ao abandono devido a novas formas de crescimento pouca integradoras dos espaços existentes. Assumem-se agora, estes locais, como potenciais pólos de revitalização e inovação, tanto do próprio espaço como da forma como se pensa o crescimento das cidades. No desenvolvimento da dissertação escrita aborda-se a importância do Património, nomeadamente do Património Industrial, e questiona-se o seu papel nas cidades actualmente. Procura-se também compreender a evolução da relação da cidade com o Património e qual a importância para o seu desenvolvimento. Centrando-se na Reabilitação como forma de manter e proteger as construções que chegaram aos nossos dias e que pelo seu valor são fundamentais preservar, pretende-se encontrar as melhores formas de renovar o Património Edificado, transportando-o para a actualidade. Tomando o lugar como referência para a definição do espaço na cidade, sendo fundamental na forma como a Arquitectura é vivida, procura-se perceber as diversas formas de compreensão de lugar e qual o seu contributo para a leitura e percepção do Património Arquitectónico Industrial. Por fim, analisa-se, ainda, as formas de flexibilidade da Arquitectura, compreendendo as diversas estratégias a utilizar e conceitos inerentes à mesma, procurando aplicar as reflexões teóricas e práticas da presente dissertação na reabilitação do antigo edifício designado “A Tabaqueira”, promovendo a sua compreensão enquanto Património Arquitectónico Industrial e a forma como a reabilitação o pode adequar às necessidades futuras. Além disso, incorpora-se ainda, na área de intervenção, uma nova construção no espaço limítrofe ao rio, procurando estabelecer relação com este e fomentar a revitalização da ligação da zona da Matinha com o Tejo. Mais do que culminar no projecto prático de reabilitação do edifício já referido ou da nova construção, pretende-se fomentar o espírito crítico acerca do património e da importância da sua reabilitação, como forma de transportar as referências do passado para o futuro e consciencializar sobre o seu valor para as cidades. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT: The present work aims to question and develop the topic of Industrial Heritage rehabilitation, in its spatial dimension, and as part of the History of the city, with assets recognized as able to be part of their future. Nowadays, the subject of rehabilitation is core to the development of the architectural practice and so is the quest to understand its relevance in the contemporaneity, and what the best ways to approach the rehabilitation for the future are. Framing the research in the city of Lisbon will try to establish a new relationship between the city and the building, once essential to its development, but meanwhile left discarded due to new ways of growth that less integrate the existent spaces. These spaces are now considered as potential revitalization and innovation hubs, not only of the space itself, but also of the way that the city growth is thought of. In the theoretical part of the dissertation, the importance of the Heritage and the Industrial Heritage is approached, and its part in cities today is questioned. Also, the evolution of the relationship between the city and the Heritage, along with the importance of this relationship for the city growth, is studied in the present work. Focusing on the rehabilitation as a way to maintain and protect the buildings that made it to our days and whose value is important to preserve, the best approach on how to renovate the Built Heritage, transporting it to the present day, is reviewed. Using the place as a reference to define the space in the city, and as essential in the way that Architecture is lived, the several forms of understanding the Place and what its contribute to the reading and perception of the Architectonic Industrial Heritage is assessed. The means for Architecture flexibility are analysed, understanding the multiple strategies to be used and their concepts of flexibility, in order to apply the theoretical and practical reflexions of this dissertation, in the rehabilitation of the old building called “A Tabaqueira”, promoting its comprehension as Architectonic Industrial Heritage, and how its rehabilitation can project it to the future. Also, in the working area, a new construction is added in the space along the river, which seeks to establish a relationship with the river, promoting the revitalization of the link between the Matinha area and the Tagus. More than achieving the rehabilitation project of the building or the added construction, the present work encourages the critical thinking regarding the Heritage and the importance of its rehabilitation, as a way to transfer the references of the past to the future and to create awareness on its value for the cities. | |
