O presente trabalho orienta-se para a reabilitação da Quinta do Bulhaco, quinta de recreio localizada no concelho de Vila Franca de Xira, fazendo-a acompanhar da reativação de percursos relativos ao sistema defensivo das Linhas de Torres Vedras. Tirando partido da sua inserção no meio deste sistema defensivo, a Quinta do Bulhaco funciona como lugar de partida e chegada para quem percorra estes caminhos.
Alicerçado nos conceitos de património, paisagem, ruralidade e sistemas patrimoniais, o projeto promove agir de acordo com estes princípios: salientando o valor rememorativo dos objetos, através do seu restauro e reabilitação; valorizando a paisagem e a inserção na mesma; trazendo de volta alguns dos saberes e culturas característicos da ruralidade e olhando para os objetos defensivos como elementos que formam um todo.
A quinta é reabilitada tendo em conta as suas duas vertentes, a de recreio – através do turismo rural – e a de produção, através da produção agrícola e transformação de produtos.
Associando as Linhas de Torres à Quinta do Bulhaco, obtém-se uma estratégia bilateral em que um olhar reforça o outro, reavivando-se mutuamente.
ABSTRACT: The present work is oriented towards the rehabilitation of Quinta do Bulhaco, a recreational farm located in the municipality of Vila Franca de Xira, accompanying the reactivation of routes related to the defensive system of Linhas de Torres Vedras. Taking advantage of its insertion in the middle of this defensive system, Quinta do Bulhaco works as a place of departure and arrival for those who travel these paths. Based on the concepts of heritage, landscape, rurality and heritage systems, the project promotes acting in accordance with these principles: highlighting the reminiscent value of objects, through their restoration and rehabilitation; valuing the landscape and insertion in it; bringing back some of the knowledge and cultures characteristic of rurality and looking at defensive objects as elements that form a whole. Quinta do Bulhaco is rehabilitated taking into account its two aspects, recreational – through rural tourism – and production, through agricultural production and product transformation. By associating Linhas de Torres Vedras with Quinta do Bulhaco, a bilateral strategy is obtained in which one reinforces the other, reviving each other.
