A produção literária do escritor Gonçalo M. Tavares engloba todos os géneros literários, é porém na prosa que ela se torna mais marcantes, mais notavelmente nos seus Livros Negros. Estes são compostos, mais precisamente, por Um Homem : Klaus Klump, A Máquina de Joseph Walser, Jerusalém et Aprender a Rezar na Era da Técnica, onde o autor constrói uma narrativa de leitura dilacerante. Neste sentido, podemos salientar a forma insólita como são concebidas as categorias literárias, particularmente ao nível dos temas, das tramas, das personagens e da linguagem. Estamos perante um discurso estranho e chocante que funciona, de um ponto de vista injuntivo, como as ligações de reflexão e de questionamento do real.
The writings of Gonçalo M. Tavares cover all genres, however the prose is the one genre it becomes more salient, most notably in his Black Books. These Black Books are, more precisely, Um Homem : Klaus Klump, A Máquina de Joseph Walser, Jerusalém and Aprender a Rezar na Era da Técnica, where the author constructs a narrative wich provides a heartrending reading. This way, we emphasize the unusual way he designs the literary categories, particularly in terms of theme, the plot lines, characters and language. We are facing a strange and shocking speech, from an injunctive point of view, as the links of reflection and questioning of reality.
