Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT: The exponential increase of the worldwide population translates into a massive expansion of the cities and big urban centers, with consequently more traffic and pollution. The opening of airspace to a new mode of electric transport is a likely solution. This is the background of the development of the emerging concepts of VTOL aircraft (Vertical Takeoff and Landing) and, among them, the eVTOL, which stand out for their use of less polluting electric propulsion. In the long run, this type of vehicle would also contribute to a reduction in the pollution emitted by the aeronautical industry, currently accountable for 2% of the world pollution. In this Master's thesis, of a theoretical-practical nature, a proposal for an autonomous air vehicle for passenger transport for medium-distance was developed, which responds to the current context of intercity air mobility. The project's development was based on a qualitative, mixed methodology, interventionist and non-interventionist. To this end, a more in-depth research was carried out on this theme, as well as an analysis of case studies, applied to existing concepts, and the elaboration of an interactive design project, with the support of specialists in the area. In the end, a representative model of the project was built to test and evaluate the formal and functional aspect - including flight mode - of this design proposal. In order to complement the transport of people, a service was created, which not only facilitates the travel to the aircraft facilities, but also the purchase of tickets.
