As mudanças, como é o caso da transição para o ensino superior, colocam desafios e podem
exigir alterações nas rotinas, nas relações interpessoais e na forma como o individuo se auto
perceciona e como perceciona o mundo.
Na transição para o ensino superior o estudante deverá mobilizar recursos, tais como o
suporte social, de modo a desenvolver respostas adaptativas. Quando tal não acontece, isso
reflete-se negativamente ao nível da sua saúde e bem-estar.
Na tentativa de compreender os níveis de bem-estar nos jovens universitários e quais as
características individuais que tendem a diminuir o estado de mal-estar, contribuindo desta
forma para o seu bem-estar, realizou-se um estudo empírico junto de 240 alunos de
licenciatura e mestrado do ISCSP.
Foi utilizado um questionário que foi dividido em quatro partes: aspetos sociodemográficos;
experiências no ensino superior; saúde e bem-estar e suporte social.
Os resultados indicam a relevância do suporte social de amigos e familiares como principal
recurso mobilizado pelos jovens quando sentem mal-estar psicológico.
The changes, as in the case of the transition to higher education, place challenges and may require changes in the routines, in the interpersonal relations and in how the individual perceives himself and perceives the world. In the process of transition to higher education students must mobilize resources, such as social support, in order to develop adaptive responses. When this does not happen, it is reflected negatively in terms of students’ health and well-being. While trying to understand the levels of well-being among university students and which individual characteristics tend to decrease the state of malaise, thus contributing to students’ wellbeing, an empirical study with 240 students from masters’ degree programmes of ISCSP.
