- Reviving the colors of paintings by removing the protective coating: a physical and virtual interventionPublication . Monteiro, José A. R.; Cardeira, Liliana; BAILÃO, ANA; Nascimento, Sérgio M.C.; Linhares, JoãoWhen an existing coating over a painting is detrimental to its reading and full appreciation, it needs to be removed. Coating removal to reveal the underlying painting, with minimal physical intervention, may provide additional information regarding the painting and guidance for its restoration or intervention. A Neural Network (NN) was devised to simulate the removal of a painting’s coating, using as training data a small area of the painting where the coating had been physically removed. Simulations of coating removal using the NN and two additional methodologies were compared to actual physical removal. Hyperspectral images of the paintings with and without coating were acquired, and chromatic variations were computed by estimating differences in just-noticeable different colors (JND) values and in the color gamut, using CIECAM16-UCS. Comparisons were made between paintings with and without coating, and between paintings without coating and their simulations. Results showed that removing the coating led to an increase in JND values (1.8 times on average) and in the color gamut, but the magnitude was dependent on the initial condition of the coating. When simulating coating removal, the NN produced the best chromatic simulation, with an average JND of approximately 2.6 ± 0.5 (1.1 ± 0.2 excluding lightness), while other methodologies produced differences of approximately 8.6 ± 5.7 (3.7 ± 3.0 excluding lightness). Results achieved with the NN highlight its capability for simulating coating removal with minimal physical intervention to the painting, a valuable tool when complete coating removal without outcome prediction would be undesirable.

Através de uma cultura de cooperação, pretende-se diversificar os perfis de competências, utilizando formas integradas de dinamização, ampliando os lugares de aprendizagem, o que permitirá a recolha de dados para a construção, planificação e estruturação de um módulo de formação, com enfoque na aprendizagem inter-relacionada da matemática e da música.
- The importance of psychotherapy developed through the color of drawing and paintingPublication . Souto, OlgaOn the path of spiritual development there is the need to think about problems and challenges, taking advantage of and exploring, from the beginning to the end of life, everything that allows us to update "this time of being", with the aim of enriching and deepening knowledge, allowing the human being the possibility of building a path. A good interpretation of a drawing or painting shows the quality it hides, in terms of the importance of emotions, from a cognitive behavioural perspective. The source of intuition is located on the plane of the soul in the interpretation of drawing or painting and frees the meaning of the symbols, proposing a comprehensive vision and a global perception of events, intuition asks us to be able to open ourselves to the universal. The voice of the soul calls us to grow, to further develop benevolence, tolerance and responsibility. The interpretation of a drawing requires an attitude based on the understanding of the heart, welcoming with kindness the diverse and different information, allows the development of harmony and balance, which is nothing more than a different way of looking at them.

Rocha, Ana; Charréu, L.O Ensaio Visual pretende mostrar o resultado da apresentação: Métodos artísticos e visuais de pesquisa em Educação e Artes, A Cardografia como proposta/resposta morfológica/performativa, apresentada no 36º Encontro Nacional da APECV/4º Congresso da Rede Ibero Americana de Educação Artística. Numa sala de aula, com mobiliário disposto em formato modelar, os participantes sentados acolheram os oradores que alternadamente foram partilhado escritas e grafias visuais, bem como uma proposta de atividade, que desenvolvida para cada um num todo. Conversando sobre abordagens e métodos artísticos e visuais de pesquisa em Educação e Artes, explorando de que forma têm vindo a ser utilizados por investigadores no ensino universitário, na tentativa de estabelecer uma linha de contágio entre teoria e prática. Linha essa, que é entendida de forma integrada, flexível e interconectada, delimitando fronteiras para o desenvolvimento e construção de uma investigação habitada e humanizada quer por parte dos docentes quer por parte dos estudantes.

Barros Teixeira, Fátima da Conceição; Charréu, L.Apresenta-se o resultado de um estudo de caso de um experimento pedagógico realizado em sala de aula, no âmbito do Mestrado em Educação Artística, defendido em fevereiro de 2024, na Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de Lisboa, centrando na problemática do desenvolvimento das aprendizagens globais no 1º ciclo do Ensino Básico do sistema de ensino português (crianças entre os seis e os nove anos), com o objetivo de desenvolver um projeto de artes visuais, partindo da obra de arte, aplicando um modelo que une metodologias do ensino artístico ao trabalho de projeto, com o propósito de promover criatividade e expressão individual. Foi desenhado um projeto de coadjuvação entre a professora titular e a professora especialista, com o intuito de facilitar as aprendizagens, interligando-as. O trabalho por projetos colaborativos facilitou um caminho único, transformador, envolvendo incerteza, dúvida e improviso. Permitiu compreender como se podem ligar as abordagens do Ensino Artístico às diversas áreas curriculares resultando em múltiplas interações na abordagem do conhecimento, envolvendo as crianças na sua construção e por isso mesmo tornando-o mais significativo. Contribuíram para uma melhor reflexão desta experiência o cruzamento realizado neste trabalho entre as metodologias de investigação-ação e os estudos etnográficos ou investigação naturalista. A experiência aqui apresentada, engloba elementos que não sendo novos, se tornaram verdadeiras inovações pedagógicas ao longo de décadas. Aqui combinados de forma diferente, fica demonstrado a sua aplicabilidade transversal nas aprendizagens realizadas pelas crianças da nossa amostra.

Boavida, João; Ayanoglu, Hande; Pereira, Cristóvão Valente; Hernandez-Ramirez, RodrigoThe global population is aging, with the percentage of people over 60 expected to rise from 12% to 22% and 33% residing in developed countries. However, most cities lack the appropriate infrastructure to support aging citizens in active aging and traversing the urban landscape, negatively impacting their quality of life. Studies have shown that public parks and green spaces can contribute to a higher quality of life and wellbeing. Also, smart cities are intended to improve the wellbeing and health of their inhabitants. However, most solutions are typically implemented indoors and tend to overlook the needs of older adults. A smart city should consider the increasing rate of aging and give more importance to outdoor environments as a key aspect of quality of life. The article’s main purpose is to provide a comprehensive background to understand the current knowledge on smart public parks and highlight the significance of new research in the field to promote active aging. The article is expected to inspire new research ideas by identifying gaps in knowledge. Open and challenging issues in emerging smart park solutions are proposed for further work.
