- A imagem projectante : impulso, travessia e rastoPublication . Ferreira, Helena; Macedo, Susana de Sousa Dias deStemming from my artistic practice, whose medium and recurring theme is the projection, this research consists of proposing and analysing the concept of the projecting image. In order to outline this concept, and distinguish it from the already known artistic category, the projected image (that combines both the notion of projection and screen), I seek to highlight the spatial, temporal and material dimensions, that constitute what I call the projective phenomenon, based on three preconceived ideas: the projector, the projective space and the projective surface. Thus, the main purpose of this thesis is to argue that the projecting image, connected to this projective phenomenon, develops through a complex process of transformation, comprised by an impulse, a journey and a trace. First, it seeks to understand how the image is propelled to the outside world, proposing the projector, on one hand, as a technological device, on the other as the body of the subject that projects the image. Secondly, it analyses the way in which the projecting image crosses and unfolds in the projective space, as well as the metamorphic and intermittent properties inherent to the pulsating flow of the projecting image during its journey. Finally, this research seeks to understand the ways the projecting image reveals itself, that is, what remnants and traces emerge through the reciprocal activation and transformation between image and surface. This investigation, being of a theoretical and practical nature, is closely articulated with a set of works produced along this journey and presented in my solo exhibition entitled Contorno Aparente, and identifies the projecting image, not only as the main theme of this theoretical investigation, but also as the leitmotif of the creative process within my artistic practice.
- Na Barriga da Baleia : o jogo como ferramenta para a educaçãoPublication . In a timeline of study, which goes from Antiquity, with Plato, to the present day, the discussion between educators and guardians about its advantages remains, and this is not consensual, there is still some resistance in integrating games as a means of study within the classroom. Sensitive to this theme and understanding the importance of education for citizenship in childhood, the present investigation seeks to foster empathy, developing teamwork within the classroom, resorting to the design of the board game Na Barriga da Baleia, specially designed for this dissertation. Using as a basis for creation for this game, the stage of Joseph Campbell's monomyth, Barriga da Baleia, where the mythological hero is faced with the unknown and afraid to advance on his journey, and using an action-research methodology, we challenged students from a class of the 4th year of the 1st cycle of basic education, entering this heroic path, where in the face of the unknown, they could rediscover themselves, ending up with a new awareness of themselves and others. Aware of the psychological pressure that children often experience in the school environment, where bullying often exists, it was our intention to develop characters that went against the stereotype of the common hero, in order to encourage a change in mentalities about this figure, aspiring with this, to dissolve some complexes and prejudices about “being different”, first in the game universe and then in the real plane. Thus, faced with the unknown and in the skin of unusual heroes, the students embarked on a journey of self-discovery, where the main objective is not to defeat enemies, but rather to learn to accept their differences
- Temporary transnational labour mobility and gendered individualization in EuropePublication . Harsløf, Ivan; Zuev, DennisIn a context of a new transnational division of labour, temporary international labour mobility is on the rise in Europe. In particular, recent decades have seen considerably more women seeking work experience abroad. Observers have been concerned with how such mobility is related to individualization, and in particular how it may challenge collective institutions, communities and families. The aim of this study is to explore such issues among women and men with international work experience. Using data from European Social Survey, the paper investigates previously mobile workers in terms of their current working and living conditions. Across genders, we consider different forms of individualization that may be associated with transnational labour mobility. While both women and men with transnational work experience generally feature strong strategic individualization, this is most pronounced among men. Hence, men's mobility is among other things associated with increased autonomy in working life, while – in contrast to women – it does not seem to hamper their integration in the sphere of social reproduction.

- Efeitos da análise de cenas de filmes de animação sobre a aprendizagem em estudantes do 1º ciclo de escolaridadePublication . Alves, Mariana Coutinho Marques; Duarte, António Manuel, 1961-O presente estudo teve por objetivo avaliar os efeitos de uma intervenção psicoeducacional promotora da análise de filmes de animação na temática da aprendizagem escolar na conceção de aprendizagem, na intenção de utilização de uma aprendizagem ativa e na competência de análise daquele tipo de filmes em estudantes do 4º ano de escolaridade. O estudo recorreu a um desenho de investigação baseada no “desenho de experiência de casos múltiplos”, com um grupo de 15 participantes e dois momentos de avaliação (pré- e pós-teste). A conceção de aprendizagem foi avaliada por partes da Entrevista sobre Conceções de Aprendizagem 1º Ciclo (Figueira & Duarte, 2017), e da Entrevista Estruturada sobre Conceções de & Abordagens à Aprendizagem 1º Ciclo - V. 1 (Figueira & Duarte, 2021). A intenção de utilização de uma aprendizagem ativa foi avaliada por um item de resposta múltipla. A competência de análise de filmes de animação foi avaliada por um teste cotado pela Taxonomia SOLO (Biggs & Collis, 1982). Adicionalmente, foi avaliada, por uma questão aberta, a perceção dos participantes sobre eventuais mudanças provocadas pela intervenção. As respostas a todas as questões abertas foram submetidas a análises temáticas de conteúdo. A intervenção consistiu essencialmente no envolvimento dos participantes no visionamento, análise orientada e discussão de filmes ou cenas de filmes ficcionais de animação que contrastam uma aprendizagem “ativa” (abordagem de profundidade à aprendizagem) e uma aprendizagem “passiva” (abordagem de superfície à aprendizagem). Os resultados sugerem que a intervenção psicoeducacional testada facilitou, nalguns participantes, um aumento da conceção qualitativa da aprendizagem, da intenção de utilização de uma aprendizagem “ativa” e da competência de análise de filmes de animação. No mesmo sentido, o estudo revela indícios, através das perceções de alguns dos participantes, de que a intervenção poderá ter promovido o desenvolvimento pessoal, não só a nível geral, como a nível de outros aspetos afetivos, cognitivos, comportamentais, interpessoais e de rendimento académico. No entanto, constatou-se uma grande variabilidade interindividual da resposta dos participantes à intervenção, que sugere que esta pode, nalguns casos, não ser suficiente para operar uma mudança naquelas variáveis. Na conclusão são explicitadas implicações práticas e sugestões para investigações futuras.
- Conceções de arte em pacientes psicóticosPublication . Santos, Sara Isabel Costa; Duarte, António Manuel, 1961-As conceções pessoais sobre arte influenciam em algum grau a experiência de apreciação da arte, visto que parecem funcionar como reguladores desta experiência (Leder et al., 2004). O presente estudo mostra-se relevante para a intervenção terapêutica baseada na arte com indivíduos diagnosticados com patologia mental da linha psicótica, uma vez que o conhecimento sobre o tipo de conceções sobre a arte nestes indivíduos informará aquele modo de intervenção. Neste sentido, esta investigação teve como objetivo principal conhecer as conceções de arte de indivíduos diagnosticados com patologia mental da linha psicótica, a partir de uma análise qualitativa e exploratória das respostas dadas numa entrevista semiestruturada individual, a qual foi organizada de acordo com três dimensões: Apreciação da Arte (AA), Criação da Arte (CA) e Obra de Arte (OA). As respostas à entrevista foram sujeitas a uma análise temática de conteúdo “intermédia”, que envolveu a aplicação de um sistema de categorias prévio, que compreende as dimensões acima referidas (Cunha, 2021), assim como a criação de novas categorias para conceções nele não categorizáveis. Os resultados apontam para uma variedade de conceções referentes à AA (e.g., no que toca a Processos de Apreciação, Agentes de Apreciação, Fatores de Apreciação e Efeitos Pessoais da Apreciação), referentes à CA (e.g., no que diz respeito a Processos de Criação, Agentes de Criação, Fatores de Criação e Efeitos Pessoais da Criação) e referentes à OA (e.g. Correspondentes a Critérios Intrínsecos à OA e Não Correspondentes a Critérios Intrínsecos à OA). Concluiu-se por uma diversidade de conceções nos indivíduos inquiridos, diagnosticados com patologia mental da linha psicótica, algumas das quais não descritas na literatura anterior consultada e, que poderão representar de forma idiossincrática as suas conceções da arte. No entanto este estudo assume-se como preliminar e exploratório, carecendo de confirmação e aprofundamento por parte de estudos futuros.
