O que se propõe com este trabalho é conhecer em que medida a subunidade
“Classificação dos materiais”, em particular no que diz respeito às propriedades dos
materiais e à Tabela Periódica dos Elementos, pode ser lecionada com recurso ao uso
de ferramentas Web 2.0, nomeadamente através da plataforma wiki, e tendo em conta
as competências definidas nas orientações curriculares para o ensino básico. A
finalidade é então conhecer as potencialidades atribuídas pelos alunos ao wiki;
dificuldades encontradas pelos alunos ao trabalharem no wiki; e perceções dos alunos
relativamente às aulas de Ciências Físico-Químicas, quando realizam as tarefas sobre
a Tabela Periódica com recurso ao wiki.
A intervenção decorreu numa turma do 9.º ano, constituída por dezoito alunos,
dez rapazes e oito raparigas, com uma média de idades de quinze anos. Durante esta
intervenção pedagógica foram lecionados quatro blocos de 90 minutos e dois de 45
minutos no âmbito da disciplina de Ciências Físico-Químicas e outros três blocos de
90 minutos em articulação com a disciplina de TIC. A recolha dos dados foi feita
recorrendo a entrevistas em grupo focado, documentos escritos, questionários e
observação naturalista (notas de campo e registo áudio).
Os resultados obtidos através deste trabalho tornaram evidente as
potencialidades atribuídas pelos alunos ao wiki, nomeadamente o modo como
aprendem e o modo como usam o wiki. Os alunos sentiram algumas dificuldades ao
trabalharem com o wiki, que se manifestaram ao nível da linguagem, do tratamento de
informação, do domínio técnico e do tempo. Os resultados obtidos permitem, ainda,
perceber o que os alunos aprenderam com as tarefas e o envolvimento dos alunos na
sua realização.
The main purpose of this study is to know how the subunit “Classifying materials”, concerning materials properties and the Periodic Table of the elements, can be taught with the use of Web 2.0 tools, in particular the wiki platform, according with the development of competences pointed out in the Curricular Guidelines. The aim is thus to recognize the potential attributed by the pupils to the wiki, their difficulties when working with the wiki and their view about it’s use during the classes of the physical-chemistry discipline. The work was conducted in a 9th grade class, involving eighteen pupils, ten males and eight females, with an average age of fifteen years old. During this pedagogical intervention were taught four time-blocks of 90 minutes, two of 45 minutes and another three of 90 minutes, in articulation with the ICT discipline. Data collection was done through the use of focus group interviews, written documents, questionnaires and naturalistic observation. The results revealed the potential recognized by pupils when using the wiki, in particular the way they learn and the way they use the platform. The pupils felt some difficulties when working with the wiki that manifest itself through the use of language, information treatment, technical expertise and time. The results also allowed the understanding of what the pupils learn with the tasks performed during this intervention and their engagement regarding its completion.
