A presente investigação teve como objectivo primordial avaliar a relação que os adolescentes delinquentes têm com as figuras significativas (mãe, pai e pares), analisando a segurança emocional inerente a este sistema relacional. Participaram no estudo 30 adolescentes, do sexo masculino, com diagnóstico de delinquência juvenil, com idades compreendidas entre os 14 e os 18 anos. Todos os sujeitos se encontravam internados em Centro Educativo. Para avaliar a relação/ligação do adolescente face às figuras parentais e aos pares, utilizou-se o Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment (Armsden & Greenberg, 1987). Elaborou-se um questionário, a preencher pelos técnicos, que visava obter informação de características sócio-demográficas, anamnésicas e de contexto institucional, sobre os sujeitos que constituíram a amostra. Os resultados apontam para um sistema relacional de vinculação à mãe, pai e pares caracterizado pela segurança emocional. Não foram encontradas variações significativas na relação dos adolescentes às figuras parentais e ao grupo de pares, em função das variáveis de contexto familiar e contexto institucional. Apesar das limitações inerentes ao presente estudo, considera-se pertinente para o crescimento do conhecimento no campo das relações de vinculação significativas dos adolescentes delinquentes, sendo fundamental e de todo o interesse a sua replicação numa amostra de maior dimensão.
The prime objective of the present investigation was the evaluation of the relationship that delinquent adolescents have with significant figures (mother, father, peers), analysing the emotional security inherent in this relational system. This study had the participation of 30 male adolescents (ages between 14 and 18) with a juvenile delinquency diagnosis. All the subjects were living in an Educational Centre. To evaluate the adolescent's relationship/connection to the parent's and peer's figures Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment (Armsden & Greenberg, 1987) was used. A questionnaire was elaborated, to be filled in by technicians, in order to obtain information about the sociodemographic characteristics of all the subjects concerned, either concerning the individual development or related to an institutional context. The results point to a relational system of attachment to mother, father and peers characterized by emotional security. Significant variations in the relationship between adolescents and the parental figures or the peer group related to the variables of family and institutional contexts weren't found. In spite of this study's limitations, this work has proved to contribute to the knowledge acquisition regarding the area of significant attachment relationships of delinquent adolescents, being of the utmost interest its replication with a more comprehensive sample.
