O presente estudo pretende, recorrendo a dados oficiais e Big Data, avaliar o processo
Avaliar a
recursos nacionais.
With the increase in tourist territories and the emphasis that Portugal has had as a tourist destination, which has been causing intense growth in the sector over the last eight years, as well as in its main indicators: Gross Domestic Product and number of guests and overnight stays, it becomes necessary to study which processes, dynamics and stakeholders involved in the touristification processes. And as tourism-territory interactions foster several socioeconomic, cultural and environmental transformations, and introduce new elements such as accommodation and restaurants. It becomes necessary that tourism planning should consider indicators such as tourist carrying capacity, that measure the maximum limits of the impacts that the territory supports. It is an observation that the excessive use of resources can lead to their destruction, which makes it necessary to identify limits for their use and create rules for their management. The present study aims, using official data and Big Data, evaluate the touristification process in space and time in the municipalities of Mainland Portugal. Rate the tourism carrying capacity also at the municipal level of mainland Portugal and identify possible future scenarios, in order to identify the possible municipalities at risk and those that are currently at risk, that is, municipalities where there may be impacts promoted by the activity which could have impacts on national resources.
