Considerando a importância do
Changes in the world of work and in technologies have been demanding the adoption of more proactive behaviors in career management, and a shift to new work contexts, like teleworking. Considering the importance of the impact of self-management behaviors in career success, and the job, family and leisure satisfaction for the well-being and life satisfaction of individuals, the purpose of this investigation is to study the relation between these variables, as well as to compare individuals working in-office with individuals tele-working. The Career Strategies Inventory, the Perceived Career Success, and the Life-Role Satisfaction Scale were applied to 134 people in the technology information sector. The results showed that there is, indeed, a relationship between career self-management behaviors and career satisfaction, and that this relationship is mediated by life-role satisfaction. It was also possible to identify significant differences between tele-working professionals and office-based ones regarding family satisfaction and overall results of life-role satisfaction. These results contributed to the study of the relationship between the variables in question, as well as for the importance of implementing organizational practices that facilitate career self-management and life-roles balance. It also stresses the importance of the development of studies about the impact of teleworking in the individual-organization relation.
