Introdução
A seropositividade, graças à evolução médica no combate à SIDA, tornou-se uma
situação crónica que comporta problemas muito delicados no que respeita à qualidade
de vida destes pacientes. Uma variável que urge estudar neste contexto é a avaliação
que estes pacientes fazem acerca dos cuidados de saúde que lhes são dispensados.
Objectivo
Verificar se a satisfação dos pacientes seropositivos com os cuidados de saúde evolui de
acordo com o tempo de tratamento, se é diferente de acordo com o sexo do paciente e se
varia em função do seu estatuto sócio-económico.
Metodologia
Amostra: 69 homens e 38 mulheres, todos seropositivos e utentes de diversas
instituições de apoio a pacientes seropositivos.
Instrumentos: Questionário sócio-demográfico e adaptação do "Advanced Directives-
Patient Satisfaction Questionnnaire" (AD-PSQ) de Ho, Thiel, Rubin & Singer, 2000).
Resultados
O período de tempo entre a transmissão do diagnóstico e o momento actual está
directamente relacionado com a percepção dos pacientes acerca do apoio dos
profissionais de saúde; o sexo do paciente não está relacionado com a sua percepção
acerca da satisfação com os cuidados de saúde; o estatuto sócio-económico dos
pacientes está relacionado com a percepção acerca do papel desempenhado pelas suas
famílias.
Introduction Seropositivity, due to the medical evolution in AIDS treatment, became a chronicle condition with many delicate problems about these patients quality of life. One variable that needs to be studied in this context is the evaluation of these patients about the health care provided to them by health professionals and also by their families. Objective To verify if the satisfaction of seropositive patients about their health care changes according to the time of treatment, if it is different according to the gender of the patient and if it varies according to the socio-economic status of the patient. Methodology Sample: 69 men and 38 women, all of them seropositive and using health care provided by several institutions dedicated to the support of these patients. Instruments: A Socio-Demographic Questionnaire and the adaptation of the "Advanced Directives-Patient Satisfaction Questionnnaire" (AD-PSQ) de Ho, Thiel, Rubin & Singer, 2000). Results The period of time between the transmission of the diagnosys and the present moment is directly related with the patients' perception about the support provided by health professionals, patients' gender is not related to their perception about satisfaction with health care provided by health professionals and patients' socio-economic status is related with perception about their families' role.
