Vinculação do adulto, memórias de infância e variáveis relacionais : um estudo com homens

O estudo que se apresenta foca a vinculação do adulto e as memórias de infância relativas a práticas educativas, assim como a sua associação com um conjunto de variáveis relacionais (relação com a mãe, com o pai, e com a companheira). Pretende-se: (1) caracterizar a vinculação do adulto (conforto com a proximidade, confiança nos outros e ansiedade) e as memórias de infância (suporte emocional, rejeição e sobreproteção) numa amostra de homens, em função da idade e do nível de escolaridade; (2) analisar a relação entre as duas dimensões; (3) avaliar a associação de cada uma delas com as variáveis relacionais (relação com a mãe e com o pai, e relação com a companheira – satisfação conjugal); (4) explorar a inter-relação entre as variáveis relacionais. Foram utilizados os seguintes instrumentos: Escala de Vinculação do Adulto (EVA), versão portuguesa da Adult Attachment Scale-R, e EMBU, versão portuguesa do Inventory for Assessing Memories of Parental Rearing Behaviour. Através de uma entrevista de recolha de dados foi obtida informação sociodemográfica e relativa às variáveis relacionais. Participaram no estudo 85 homens, com idades entre os 29 e os 60 anos, com filhos (em idade escolar). Os resultados mostraram associações (positivas) do suporte emocional (por parte ao pai e da mãe) com o conforto com a proximidade e da rejeição (por parte da mãe) com a ansiedade. Verificaram-se associações da confiança nos outros (positiva) e da ansiedade (negativa) com a satisfação na relação com a companheira, bem como do suporte emocional (positiva) e da rejeição (negativa), com as relações com a mãe e com o pai. Obtiveram-se ainda associações positivas entre as variáveis relacionais. Os resultados contribuem para aprofundar o conhecimento nas dimensões estudadas e permitem retirar implicações com aplicação no contexto clínico.
The present study focuses on adult attachment and childhood memories related to educational practices, in addition to their association with a set of relational variables (relationship with the mother, the father and the partner). It aims to: (1) characterize adult attachment (comfort with proximity, trust in others and anxiety) and childhood memories (emotional support, rejection and overprotection) in a sample of men, according to their age and level of schooling; (2) analyze the relationship between the two dimensions; (3) evaluate the association of each with the relational variables (relationship with the mother, the father and the partner - conjugal satisfaction); (4) explore the interrelation among the relational variables. The following instruments were used: Adult Attachment Scale (EVA), Portuguese version of the Adult Attachment Scale-R, and EMBU, Portuguese version of the Inventory for Assessing Memories of Parental Rearing Behavior. Through a data collection interview, information on both sociodemographic and relational variables was obtained. A total of 85 men, aged between 29 and 60 years (with school -aged children) participated in the study. Results showed (positive) associations of emotional support (on the part of the father and the mother) with comfort with proximity, and rejection (on the part of the mother) with anxiety. Associations of trust in others (positive) and of anxiety (negative) with satisfaction in the relationship with the partner were observed, as were those between emotional support (positive) and rejection (negative) with the relationships with the mother and the father. Moreover, positive associations among the relational variables were obtained. The results contribute to furthering knowledge of the dimensions under study and to highlighting implications for clinical context.
