O presente trabalho tem como objectivo aprofundar o estudo da utilização de
diversos métodos na tradução especializada de chinês e de inglês para português
europeu, nomeadamente nas áreas económica e ambiental, a partir de textos
jornalísticos (bilingues, i.e., textos com ambas as versões correspondentes chinesa e
inglesa) da imprensa internacional, em especial, dos E.U.A e da China, que reflectem a
realidade actual da China.
É importante salientar que o trabalho consiste numa reflexão baseada nas soluções
encontradas para resolver os problemas tradutórios, que serão identificados e analisados
no confronto entre cada uma das línguas de partida e o Português Europeu. Uma vez
que os textos foram traduzidos para um público-alvo diversificado, as soluções
tradutórias foram sempre tomadas com a preocupação de uma melhor compreensão dos
leitores nacionais, o que exigiu muita pesquisa em bases de dados e textos afins e até,
por vezes, criação terminológica.
Sendo que existem poucos trabalhos académicos que estudem a tradução entre
chinês e português europeu em Portugal, não existindo mesmo, tanto quanto sabemos,
nenhum trabalho académico que aborde o tema da tradução de textos da área da
economia e do ambiente, o presente relatório de estágio curricular afigura-se importante
para abrir caminho a mais estudos de tradução no âmbito destes domínios do saber.
The present internship report targets specialized translation from Chinese and English into European Portuguese, namely in the domains of economic and environmental issues, collected from international bilingual media Chinese-English, which portray these issues in contemporary China. It must be highlighted that it draws on a reflection on translation solutions, which will be identified and analyzed by confronting our translations into European Portuguese from both source languages, English and Chinese. Since translated texts target a broad audience, translation solutions were architectured after thorough research on online databases. Sometimes, it was necessary to resort to terminology coinage, with special reference to text translation from Chinese into Portuguese. Since there are few academic papers dealing with translation issues from Chinese into European Portuguese and, as far as we know, this is the first internship report dealing with translation problems in the domains of economy and environmental issues, the present translation internship report constitutes an important academic contribution to further studies in the translation domain.
