Um dos maiores quarteirões da cidade de Lisboa situado no centro da cidade com uma quantidade relevante de património no seu interior. Conta com o Parque Mayer e Complexo do Museu Nacional de História Natural e da Ciência, que inclui o Jardim Botânico de Lisboa e aguarda exploração plena do seu potencial.
Um plano de pormenor em vigor desde 2011 que ainda não foi aplicado. Passados 11 anos, reflete-se sobre o Complexo do Museu Nacional de História Natural e da Ciência e sobre o seu património, principalmente, o antigo Picadeiro do Real Colégio dos Nobres.
A estratégia para a reabilitação da envolvente imediata do Picadeiro passa por torná-lo em um espaço público, abrir o quarteirão à cidade que o rodeia e permitir o atravessamento e permanência no seu interior.
A estratégia para a reabilitação do antigo Picadeiro compreende o que é património e como intervir, tendo a reversibilidade da construção como tema e premissa nas intervenções realizadas nos edifícios como património.
Definiu-se um programa adequado aos tempos contemporâneos, que integra o edifício reabilitado às circunstâncias da zona onde se encontra e à sociedade contemporânea. O Programa que se desenvolveu consiste num centro desportivo para a modalidade de SkateBoard, que se pretende, que seja utilizado por atletas em treino e competições e pela sociedade que frequenta a zona.
One of the largest blocks in the city of Lisbon, situated in the city centre, with a relevant amount of patrimony inside. In it’s interior the Parque Mayer and the National Museum of Natural History and Science Complex, which includes the Lisbon Botanical Garden awaits the full exploitation of its potential. Since 2011, there has been a directory plan in place that has failed to be implemented. It considers the National Museum of Science and Natural History complex, specifically its patrimony, the former Picadeiro do Real Colégio dos Nobres, as part of the solution after 11 years. The Picadeiro’s immediate surroundings will be transformed into public space, opening up the block to the city that surrounds it and allowing people to cross and stay inside. The urban area’s refurbishment strategy comprehends what patrimony is and how to intervene in it, with the reversibility of the construction as a theme. The reversibility of the intervention is a premise in this work’s patrimonial interventions. An appropriate program for contemporary times was developed, which integrates the rehabilitated building with the circumstances of the surrounding area and society. The program created includes a skateboarding sports center, to be use by athletes during train sessions and competitions and by the people who use the surrounding area.
