Abstract(s)
Social Games are games whose profits are applied on the so-called social causes, or "good cause", supporting disadvantaged population groups or social supporting programmes. With the purpose of identifying the determinants of Social gaming revenue in Portugal, data were collected concerning sales of Lotto type games, in both distribution channels: retailer and the gaming Portal on the Internet. After the application of various statistic tests, it was proved that the ratio of the change in the volume of sales on the Portal, face the existence of jackpot in first prize, is statistically significant, unlike in the network of retailers, showing the difference in the behavior of bettors in this two channels. It was also shown that there is a statistically significant relationship between the Euromillions game sales, both within the network of retailers as well as at the gaming Portal, and the sales of the other games in the same channels. This proves the effect of complementarily between the game multi-state and national games of the same type Lotto.
