Abstract(s)
A vila de Alcochete está inserida no território do Arco Ribeirinho Sul e é parte integrante do Estuário do Tejo, sendo o seu território marcado pela presença de uma área extensa de salinas, que em tempos foram o grande motor de desenvolvimento da região. Porém, a sua frente ribeirinha não traduz atualmente as potencialidades que este território oferece. A frente ribeirinha de Alcochete, à exceção da área que foi alvo de regeneração nos últimos anos, demonstra algumas quebras urbanas e sinais de algum abandono.
Neste contexto do Projeto Final de Mestrado, será apresentada uma proposta de plano de regeneração da frente ribeirinha deste local, que pretende não só, a regeneração da mesma, resolvendo os problemas existentes de quebras, como também potenciar e valorizar a paisagem rural existente, onde estão inseridas as salinas, e assim oferecer à população novos ambientes e infraestruturas que estejam totalmente integrados na paisagem rural e no tecido urbano.
Deste modo, a proposta de regeneração pretende preservar o local, não só para os habitantes da vila, como também para os visitantes, conseguindo criar um equilíbrio entre o território urbanizado e o território rural, contribuindo assim para manter presente a memória das salinas.
Do ponto de vista teórico, a investigação foca-se no estudo: do conceito de espaço público; como o desenho do espaço público pode contribuir na estruturação da cidade; na temática de regeneração urbana e como esta atua através do desenho de espaço público; o conceito de frente ribeirinha; a relação de frentes ribeirinhas com espaço público e com a cidade; na temática das alterações climáticas aliada aos territórios ribeirinhos; e soluções de projetos relacionados com estas temáticas apresentadas. Nesta proposta está também fundamentada a análise de vários elementos caracterizadores do local, como o enquadramento histórico, a categoria existente, e os instrumentos de gestão territorial aplicados no local.
ABSTRACT: The village of Alcochete is inserted in the territory of Arco Ribeirinho Sul and is an integral part of the Tejo’s estuary, and its territory is marked by the presence of an extensive area of salt pans, which were once the great development engine of the region. However, its riverside front does not currently reflect the potential that this territory offers. Alcochete’s riverside front, with the exception of the area that has been the target of regeneration in recent years, demonstrates some urban breaks and signs of some abandonment. In this context of the Final Master’s Project, a proposal will be presented for a plan for regeneration of the riverside front of this site, which intends not only to regenerate it, solving the existing problems of breaks, but also enhance and value the existing rural landscape, where salt pans are inserted, and thus offer the population new environments and infrastructures that are fully integrated into the rural landscape and urban fabric. Therefore, the regeneration proposal intends to preserve the place, not only for the inhabitants of the village, but also for visitors, managing to create a balance between urbanized territory and rural territory, thus contributing to keep present the memory of the salt pans. From the theoretical point of view, the research focuses on these points of study: on the concept of public space; how the design of public space can contribute to the structuring of the city; in the theme of urban regeneration and how it acts through the design of public space; the concept of riverside front; the relationship of riverside fronts with public space and with the city; climate change theme allied to riverside territories; and project solutions related to these themes presented. This proposal is also based on the analysis of several characterising elements of the site, such as the historical framework, the existing category, and the territorial management instruments applied on site.
