O presente trabalho estuda as condicionantes e desenvolve uma resposta concreta para o realojamento da população residente no Bairro 2º Torrão, na Trafaria, Almada.
A solução propõe o redesenho do bairro, numa lógica de reorganização e renovação dos espaços existentes, dando continuidade à malha urbana adjacente, qualificando a paisagem natural envolvente e criando um novo bairro onde se privilegia a convivialidade entre moradores.
A morfologia proposta para o renovado bairro incentiva práticas e costumes que visam tornar o habitar mais apelativo. Os lugares procuram recriar ambientes que induzem sensações familiares e acolhedoras.
Acredita-se que a sustentabilidade do bairro depende da identificação dos residentes com o renovado local e que só isto poderá ativar uma participação no quotidiano da comunidade e na manutenção do bairro construído.
As habitações, do tipo evolutivo, foram pensadas para ir ao encontro das necessidades da população, potenciando suficiente liberdade de apropriação e crescimento, num contexto sociológico relativamente flutuante.
Os espaços internos da casa foram imaginados para serem «dinâmicos» e interdependentes, de forma a que, partindo-se de um conjunto limitado de formas base combinadas entre si, estas possam evoluir ao longo do tempo para se adaptarem às necessidades das famílias.
ABSTRACT: The present work studies the constraints and develops a concrete design solution for resettlement of 2º Torrão resident population. The solution appears as a new way of redesigning the neighborhood in a logic of reorganization and renovation of existing spaces in continuity with adjacent urban areas, improving surrounding natural landscape and creating a new neighborhood giving priority to the conviviality among residents. The morphology of the new neighborhood encourages practices and costumes that make inhabiting more appealing. The places seek to recreate environments that induce familiar and welcoming feelings. The urban sustainability as all to do with its own identity and the way residents identify themselves with it, participating actively in the daily life of the community and in maintenance/evolution of buildings. Therefore, incremental houses were designed to meet people´s needs, enhancing enough freedom of appropriation and growth, in a relatively fluctuating sociological context. The spaces in the house were imagined to be dynamic and interactive so that, starting from a limited set of shapes combined with one another, they can evolve over time to adapt to the needs of families.
